I have started my clutter-free home project but I am still struggling. While I am putting some stuffs away, my 3 year old son tries to create other more clutter which makes my project complicated. There is no way to place my kid away from the house. Thus, I am doing the organizing in his presence. I have been thinking of getting him involved so to lessen the stress of doing the project with him around. My problem is: I do not know how to involve him without me giving and giving an orders. I do not know also the hows of letting him involved in the maintenance of an organized home. Actually, this is an issue that challenges my motherhood. To keep everything in the house in a proper place with the presence of a kid is not an easy task. My kid had brought a drastic change in the house. it became messy all the time. I thought that I could live with the mess daily but I felt like the mess has been putting a cobweb in my mind which makes my everyday unhappy. I have been up with my clutter-free home project. I am doing it gradually because I am still a working mother with a one day off weekly.

Kesh, it is good to hear you had begin your clutter-free project. Don't worry too much. Take your time to teach your son to learn to throw away things that are unwanted. I know at first, it is not an easy task. But, take your time day by day to teach him, i am sure he will understand it soon. At first, i am also having problem to clutter-free my home when my son is still very young. I bought cupboard without door for him to put his toys after he had played them. Day by day, i let him know how to make the room tidy. Now, i see he started to start to keep his toys before he went to bed. Hope to hear your good news soon.

Yes, thanks again. My house is getting cleaner now. It is not yet that well organized or super clean. But I feel better that my kid and hubby are trying their best to cooperate. It is quite a sacrifice.

Good luck in your project! And I think it is right to start kids in cleaning after themselves at such an early age. I have kid siblings older than your kid and yet me and my folks are having a hard time in making them interested in tidying up their own bed, much less their own rooms. Like you, it is a work in progress. During the worse days when they really don't do anything, we tell them they cannot buy anything unless they straightened up their room and make way for something that they will buy.

Hi Raine! Thanks for the comment. Actually, I also have a hard time letting my kid fix his bed in the morning. I am planning to set a whole day cleanup with him. Thanks for the wish.

Thanks tweetyfe for the comment. Well, involving him in the clutter-free project might as well serve as a training for him if I can successfully involve him.
