What can you say about Odesk.com?

Odesk: Changing How the World Works - Odesk serves as an online market place where employers and job hunters meet.

I have known some people who make a good fortune or earn a living from Odesk. I have even tried it but I haven't gotten to the point of focusing on it as a good source of income. Can you share some insights and experiences about this site? Thanks.

Yes, oDesk is a good place to look for virtual assistant jobs, though sometimes a bit frustrating because of the competition and sometimes you have to make insanely low bids to get accepted for the job but I guess you really have to go thru that process especially if you're still a "newbie" and with no experience/feedbacks yet. :(

It seems that competition is inevitable. We just need to strive hard to stand out from the rest.

Yes and this kind of profession still has a vast potential. Hopefully many people will get to support their families with this growing industry.

after building a good resume here, just be at the right time with the right proposal, I've been with odesk for a year, and haven't got a single job on a couple of months, and I stopped using it, until last month (July) when I came back making applications again. I've got my first part time job here. and now still waiting for another test result, odesk is really populated with contractors like me, having hundreds of applicants in one single job posting (imagine?). Just be at the right time (to be one of 10-20 applicants) and the best of luck that the employer will notice you. so it is not the only site I'm using.

I'm not so familiar with Odesk butI heard good reviews from friends who actually work for Odesk. It actually inspired me to try it one day. I just feel I'm not ready right now. I know there are a lot of competitive applicants so I need to hone my skills first in order to be considered by the employers.

I have used odesk as an employer and not as an employee. I like odesk in that you can choose from many applicants with a wide range of abilities. The most frustrating part for me is finding writers who write naturally in native english/american style. Many writers may have the grammer down but use words that would not normally be used in a sentence they are writing. The dictionary may say the word is corrent but in normal conversation the words are just not used in the same way. I am sure the writers find this to be very difficult also. If think if you want to make the most of odesk you need to write well, have your worked critiqued and get the language flow correctly. As a employer I want someone who will do the work well, correctly the first time and on time. If you can provide the employer with that service they will keep coming back to you again and again and your earning and wages will increase. Hope this helps. Happy writing!

I have tried Odesk, yes Odesk is a good source of income but getting a job in Odesk is not that easy. You have to bid against other applicants for the job, also you should have the skill. Some jobs in odesk requires qualification making it hard for new applicants to get the high paying jobs. Still odesk I think is a very good site for online job seekers.

I am a part-time freelancer in oDesk and I am really happy that I found this site. There are so many sites similar to oDesk but in terms of popularity and security, Odesk will always be the number one for me. If you're hunting for a part-time source of income, you may consider signing up in Odesk. I can assure you good jobs, good earnings, and friendly clients. In fact, I am improving a lot now in terms of the number of job offers that I receive from clients. It takes time, you know. :)

I'm not really new to Odesk. It is a site that could help people to find their jobs easily just by using computer with internet at the comfort of their homes. It also offers part time jobs to the ones who can't work full time. I'm looking forward to be hired one of these days soon.

I was a member of odesk a couple of months ago but I deleted my account there already. I am a very unexperience applicant compared to other members there, all my applications are always denied. I don't have a blog so potential employers can view it if I applied as an article writer. I also applied as a virtual assistant but most employers require that an applicant knows SEO. So I left odesk and decided that I should learn SEO first and make a blog so I can add these to my profile.
