Yesterday while I was riding this public transport, I noticed the driver was driving too fast. I called his attention, told him to slow down, but he just kept on with his maniacal speed. In fact when he reached a certain area and there was another cab driver, he started to accelerate even more like he was racing with this other driver. Noticing this, the other similarly crazy driver also drove faster so he won't be overtaken. They were racing, these two crazy cab drivers and I the poor passenger was hanging on to my dear life by holding any part of the cab so I won't get thrown away should there be any accident. Our public cabs here do not have seat belts so you can just imagine how dangerous it is to be riding these public transportation run by crazy drivers.

When that happens to me I just ask the driver to let me go out so that I can have another cab to ride in.Why should I risk my life to a hard headed driver?Their only aim is to have some earnings out of their having passengers. The safety of their passengers are only realized when an accident has already been done due to careless driving or an unintentional accident has been encountered by other reckless drivers.

You are correct friend that payments are their main interest to call passengers to be served well and delivered safely to destinations, yet with this kind of a driver I will really have to get out of his cab and still pay what was ticking in his meter, yet I have to make sure to jot down the name of the driver, the name of the cab,the plate number so that I can report him to his office what he have done so he can be scolded by his boss. Now I can have time to call another cab.

I thought of that after the incident. Next time, I will really tell the crazy driver to stop. But you know, I hate paying him just the same. I am sure he will expect to be paid in spite of very bad service.

There are really such type of drivers. Likehere in our country, many public transport are reckless. Sometimes, they don't mind about the passengers. They are always speeding up to fetch more passengers. Like me, I am very careul in driving but with other reckless drivers, I might got into accident even I took care. I guess, the licensing office should include psychological test on those who are applying for driver's license.

Yes, drivers need psychological tests before they are allowed to drive. We just don't know if many of them are out of their minds. Too dangerous.

The cabs should have seat belts. The cab drivers should obey maximum speed limits. In my home country in a town there is a speed limit of 30 miles per hour. The cab driver speeding when asked not to was playing a dangerous game. The other can driver was acting just as silly. I feel sorry for you and the other passengers. Some people might have been killed and these drivers should be reported.

Hi cutie, it is very sad that here in our country most of the traffic enforcer are not in the vicinity when that kind of incident are in the street. I just hope you already have CCTV cam in your area so they can be spotted on the camera with the authority so they can be catch anytime or you can report them.

Unfortunately Lyn, we do not have those cams yet. I just hope they get arrested and never to return to the streets again.

You should remember their plate number and reported them to the public office. Or maybe you took a video and tell it to the police. What they are doing is really not safe and others may result to accident. I have been in an accident because because of reckless driving and it is not easy to bear the consequences. I was driving and my friends started to tease me to accelerate faster and faster until it became an accident. I am more careful now of course and after the accident, i drive after 5 years because if the trauma. There are a lot of drivers here who also drives fast even if they re used to it, they must think of the passengers too. The good thing is there are a lot of police here, especially in the main road and there are CCTV cameras too to secure safety of road matters

Some cab drivers are crazy and stupid never think about his precious life and his passengers's life. Here in my city the passenger will be angry if the driver driving too fast, I found it once a granny shouted the cab driver and she scolded him as he is her grandson He slowed the cab with his face turned red.

Irresponsible crazy drivers. Public vehicles should prioritise their passengers over their life. Just like a pilot and captain of a ship. I guess those crazy drivers should be educated. I won't risk my life taking that taxi cab next time.

Well, the Philippines is home to a lot of reckless and crazy drivers indeed! A lot of buses, cabs and motorcycles meet accidents due to recklessness in the roads. I really don't know why they don't want to be safe on the roads. I once asked a taxi driver to slow down when I was going home from work. It was raining hard back then and the roads are surely slippery. But when I told him to slow down, he just said he had everything under control. He added that he was just picking up speed to be able to earn better during the limited time he will be driving the cab. Well, at least he slowed down a bit. Also, I came across before buses and fx taxi putting up a wager on who will reach their proper terminals first. The buses where really driving out mad during nights. Errr, how can such craziness be prevented on the roads? I think it is just a matter of discipline on the drivers' part.

Not only for passengers, but they also pose a big threat to other drivers. This is the reason why when I am driving and another driver seems so keen on overtaking me and getting ahead, I just let them. I mean, come one, we'll all see each other at the red light, pfft! I'd rather be a few minutes late in one piece than be there way ahead of everyone in bits and pieces. It's hard to do defensive driving here, you have to be ultra super defensive just so you wouldn't get in trouble. So at the first sign of recklessness of the driver next to me, I just slow down and let them go on ahead. I'm just fine doing my own speed.
