Increasing tendency of committing suicide among the young in India.

India

Recently British journal Lancet published a study on suicide conducted by the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine which states that suicide has become the second leading cause of death among the young in India. It is a cause of great concern to each and every Indian. The government of India too must also be worried for the increasing incidences of suicide in the country and must take all efforts to curb it. But mere making of a new law or amendment of an existing law would not serve the purpose. So the government of India needs to find out new ways in fighting this new problem in India. Awakening of positive attitude towards life is the best way, I think, to tackle it. Isn’t it? But it needs coming forward of all sections of people from the society as they are the ultimate victims being the parents or guardians of such unfortunate youths. Am I right?

There are a hundreds of reasons and seems so silly but for them they are really something big. The life style, living patterns, the people around and above all, the way of thinking of the people makes a lot of diffidence. Think of about the parents, if you are from India, there is no need to explain the life pattern over here and people now have the thinking that they are well versed with everything. The assumption of abundance, most importantly the ego and many more. Also, not even 1% of the people are guided by 'how to live'. From the very beginning of the education to the highest master's degree education, no where is teaching the children or students to 'how to live'. I really hate to discuss the topic only because the system should change here but people are running after money and wealth and trying to get the PG or master in 'how to cheat', hot to loot, how to earn the money which is now in someone else's pocket. You may thinking that why/how dare me to tell these things over here, but true - think little differently and you will easily understood where the roots are leading to. Just disappointment on various things and all will lead to 'lack of knowledge to how to live' and no schools or universities are covered this simple, but the decisive point anywhere...

In fact the our children (the young generation)is really good and capable of doing many thing and worth equal to 2 adulst of the yeaster times. Even a child of 7-10 are much brillient as compared with the 30-40 years of people around. And we, the parents and the teachers or the elders are simply distroying them just by mis-understanding them. If they go to school, they get enough firing and curses from the school/teachers, at home again, they have to suffer the words and punishments from the parents and others and where they are getting some relif? Among the friends or few mates what they are surrounded? Shame, and I really curse the system of teaching and the mode of outdated methods adopted by our system. We can blame them. But if we come up with certain best solutions, we will get thrown out of it. A simple example, which I happened to heard yesterday, please evaluate: I got a family friend and his son scored an outstanding performance in his 10th exams 2 years back and he himself decided serve India Airforce. Everyone whome know better advised him to go for college with science or engineering and many other options also. Any way, it was his determination to serve the nationo at any cost and he was ready to die for nation by serving the country. On the basis of this, he got admitted to the same area by and got training and there also he studied well and become outstanding student there. However on the 2nd & 3rd years, his trainers and senior officers are not allowing him to appear for exams and admitting few days before to hospital saying that he is unfit due to some illness, where as he is absolutely fine. When he came here last, he was telling that there are some students from 'inside' people and perform below average and these 'authorities' want some of the students to be come up and only because of this boy, they are losing the chances and they are purposively degrading this boy. Now, they asked this boy to COMPULSORILY to take leave the service and now he is telling that if he still prefer to continue there, they may kill them with their 'powers'. As it is an internal matter, he cannot disclose anything outside and now you think what is what how our nation will improve and see what is the futuere of a child who has a strong will and power to serve the nation is now destined to. Any way, now this is the mid of time and he can't get admission anywhere and will lose one year for his academic progress. His father is looking out with many of the engineering colleges and trying to get into a post of 'drop out' positons for an admission. See, the real facts are so devilish and here also we need to close our eyes to the real facts and this is just one case out of millions of such incidents. Now I really feel like say 'Jai Hind'

Those days in india our ancestors had no that much mental pressure as it was a agricultural nation but now india is marching towards corporate culture. India now full of money-minded, over-ambitious people who never think other's feelings. These days young people got huge responsibility to fulfill the parents expectations i.e to be one step ahead of relatives, friends, neighbors. If they cannot able to fulfill the aspirations of their parents, they decide to leave the earth.

Well surely the sufferers are either parents or guardian. But don't forget about siblings as well. You did try to mention that government should do something but the causes remain unclear, until and unless we do not know the causes what solutions are we proposing here or asking the government to do. Let's get to the root problems and then we can look upto the solutions.
