This is a poem Untitled by me from my personal journal.. written on May 11th 2011 Tuesday morning at 11:42a EST When a heart breaks, it doesn't break even When my eyes cry, My heart yearns to be free when It's trapped In a secluded dark basement Closed case when He said it was over, Far from the crimson clovers Of the secret garden We both once shared Without a care In the world Gorgeous girl Is what he called me As free-spirited as a dandelion seed Now unhappy as can be Seems like I'll never see The light at the end Too far to touch, too close to mend Wishing that God would send Me a blessing Someone to lend An ear to my pain Then the neverending rain Stars to pour Inside, I roar To one day soar Amongst the stars "For you? Hi there.. This poem is just beautiful. Did you actually write it? I have always admired people who have that creative streak in them.. I myself enjoy writing though I have to say its actually been a really long time since I wrote journals... Well, I do hope you continue sharing your poetry here on myLot. Its got a lot of feeling, lot of emotions... I enjoyed it. Thanks for sharing. :)

I am happy to hear you enjoyed it.. it was actually something I was going through my life at the time.. and the best way for me to express my feelings in a healing way is to write.. every excerpt from my journal is either a poem or an entry written like a chapter from a novel! I love literature, always have and always will. I hope to publish one of the books I've written one day and I have one published poem entitled "My Love Comes Down". Hope you are around to catch more if I choose to post more about my personal life.. behind the PC screen lol *blush* Thanks for reading, enjoying and commenting!!

Beautifully written, though sadly so. I love this line ... as free-spirited as a dandelion seed ... As a poet, I always find it interesting to return to my previous writings... perhaps to reminisce the heartfelt moments, good and some not so good.

lol yea I agree.. I only really write when I'm feeling passionate about someone or something or heartbroken smh. But, I always write journal entries and memoirs of my life so that I can look back, read and never forget how I felt or what I thought.. I find it beneficial for personal growth =) Also, many of my journal entries within my personal journal are either written as poems, prose or chapters from a novel or something lol. I find literature to be very important in my life and nothing will ever change that. Thanks for reading and sharing your thoughts!!

Just a suggestion, have you tried listening to The Script's song - Breakeven? The first line is exactly the same. I hope you don't get into any copyright issues with them!

Yes, I am quite familiar with the song because it plays on mainstream radio.. but this isn't a song.. it is just an excerpt poem from my personal journal that I wrote back in May of 2011.. so that song neither inspired my poem nor did my poem expired the song.. =) Thanks for commenting!!
