Back Pain

My work requires a lot of sitting. I sit for 8 hours from Monday to Friday. If I'll add my dinner time, it will be nine hours. I usually eat my dinner at work. I usually feel back pain on Wednesdays til Fridays. I stretch a lot so I won't have back pain. How about you, do you experience back pains? What do you do with it? Share your thoughts everyone. Happy myLotting.

Visit a doctor. Maybe you have dislocated your spinal discs.

I have a suggestion for you, at least once every hour you stand holding relaxation in your legs for 5 minutes. And the second suggestion, make a lump on your foot, so the foot turns over bumps and at times stick out your foot on the floor of.

So with me. I can feel back pain every now and then. Aside from constant sitting, I'm already approaching 40. To relieve this pain, I would walk every now and then or do slow stretching. I do it slowly so as not to stretch unnecessary nerves. Also, I put a thin pillow on my seat to ease my body pressure on my lower part.

In a daily basis, we cannot avoid having low back pain. Low back pain can be localized or affecting the nerve as described to referred pain. In severe cases, the doctor would instruct to have complete bed rest. But to no avail, it can lead to the last option of having surgery. Whatever the condition is, we can counteract this for knowing the proper body mechanics. The main principle is to know maneuvers in preventing muscle strain in the low back area, the most commonly affected lumbar segment. Prevention is better than having further injuries.

Oh, I don't want to undergo any surgery. I guess I have to walk every now and then. I agree that prevention is better than having injuries. I'm glad I don't experience any pain now. Thanks for posting and happy mylotting.

I was born with mild scoliosis (back curves side to side). While it was not bad enough that I needed to wear a brace or have surgery, I did grow up regularly seeing doctors, spinal-orthopedic specialists, chiropractors, and physical therapists. After years of various stretches and seeing a chiropractor twice a week, I am much much better and know quite a few tricks. Alternate hot and cold packs, though hot is better. The "lumbar support" pillows (though mostly marketed to pregnant women, but more generally marketed these days) are excellent! especially for office chairs that do not offer lumbar (lower back) support. Stretching is very important, especially with recurrent back pain. I have a few simple stretches that I do when I wake up, and a few more I do before bed. It takes only a few minutes each day, and I can definitely tell when I skip them. If your back hurts before bed, sleep with a pillow between your legs; if it hurts really bad, sleep on a the floor (hardwood is my fav, but carpet works, too) lying on your back and have a pillow between your legs. (They make specially pillows for this, too!) If you sit a lot, try mixing up positions. Use a lumbar support pillow off and on. find someone willing to switch chairs at lunch. Usually it's either the constant position or a bad position (non-ergonomic), and not so much the constant sitting, that is the main problem.

Oh, I just read your comment now. Thanks a lot. I guess this will really help me. I will sleep with a pillow between my legs tonight. We have the same seats in the office. I guess I just have to use and not use my pillow sometimes. Thanks for posting and happy mylotting.

Sometimes I will suffer the back pain. I think this is a common healthy problems for the people who work in the office. I found that swimming is a very effective way to release this pain. If you can keep on swimming, then you will find your back pain is gone. I hope this can be useful for you. Good luck!

rarely I would feel such pain on my back, unless I have to carry a lot of stuff on that day, and I might feel that on my back. Sometimes, If I drive a long distance from point A to point B, I might feel a little bit pain on my back, and I would definitely have to stop somewhere, and get off my car to get stretch. It is easily happen to female though. A female co - worker of mine just gone through a surgery lately with her back.

I usually feel back pain while on the car sitting on my way home everyday. Our travel time is 2 hours in the morning and 2 hours or more in the evening. I work 8am-5pm as well. When I was still single, I go to spa weekly for a massage and that really relieves the pain. But since I got married, I just let my husband do it. He puts pain killer on my back, massage it and do some stretching on my back and arms. He prepares a cup of hot tea afterwards. I pay him 100 pesos for that lol he said it is cheaper than going to spa.

Oh, I will drink more water in the morning then. I also do stretching when I feel some back pains. I only walk one to two minutes every one hour at work though. I guess that would be fine than nothing. Thanks for sharing and happy mylotting.

i encounter a lot of similar cases among my patients. i suggest you place a cushion on your back to maintain normal curvature and to make sure back is properly aligned during work hours. make use of a foot stool if possible. try to stand up and stretch as often as your work will allow within the day. hope it helps.
