The Maoist mutiny in India

The Maoist mutiny in India is alive but not quite as kicking as it once was. This is not to suppose that the rebels have lost their powers to kill and destroy. This may be a temporary set back on the part of the Maoists who may have been trying to regain strength and strike back again. So it is not the time to think that the battle against the Maoists is over, rather, it is now the ideal time for the government to continue the battle against them on one hand and to analyze the probable causes behind making of a Maoist and to eliminate those causes so that no one fall an easy victim to Maoism. Maoists who have surrendered should also be properly rehabilitated after completion of punishment if any as per verdict of the judiciary department. There should obviously be punishment but with a sympathetic attitude and assurance of rehabilitation after completion of punishment from the government, which would pave the way for surrender of more and more Maoists who might have followed the wrong track of destruction, being tender in mind. It should be borne by the government that almost all the areas which are infested by Maoists are inside forests and their inhabitants belong to tribal communities. All these factors give the current spell of the Maoists revolt the character of a tribal uprising. The facts that the State rarely reached out to these areas has helped the Maoists consolidate their positions there. They penetrated these areas of darkness, hoping to turn them into bases for their battles. So, the government should pay immediate attention to the uplift of those neglected and isolated tribal communities, otherwise, they would again continue to avail the sympathy and active support of those tribal communities. At the same time, all the political parties of India who believe in our constitution should start their normal political activities to gain their confidence and make them have a firm belief in democracy. What’s your opinion about it?

No body knows what actually the Maoists want to do. They cannot understand that destruction of life and property of common people can never help them to enjoy help and active support from people. If they are really interested in uplift of conditions of those poor people, they should organize movements for it. If the government does not pay heed to those movements, then only they can think of other ways to make the government listening to them. Otherwise, only killing of people would not help them to achieve their goal.
