I have a cousin who was going in a taxi and since the driver kind of knew him, the driver asked him one thing. He said do you want to buy a good quality calculator? My cousin said he wants to see the calculator first and the driver showed it to him. He then saw it and realized that it was an iphone but it was locked and he did not know whether he will be able to use it ever and then thought that it won't be a good idea to have it. So he said that $50 is too much and he can't afford it as he don't need calculator as for now. Then the driver said okay take it for $20 and my cousin took it. The driver has found it in his taxi where someone had lost it. My cousin kept it for sometime and tried unlocking and was not possible. One time he got a chance to go to australia for college purpose and he took it with him. He unlocked it there and is now using the iphone. he paid only $20 for the iphone. The driver had no idea that it was an iphone. ..have you come across any such incidents? thanks for sharing and have a wonderful day ahead.

Wow that was so lucky. Well there are just people who are not really interested or updated with technology, like my other grandparents. Some people prefer to live life the simplest way. For the driver, he also got lucky and got $20, if he only knew how much an iPhone costs. :)

yeah, I though feel bad for the person who lost it but then it is all fate. somethings are meant to be this way and we can't change it. I have lost things also and I have never got it back. So now I am just being more careful . thanks for sharing and have a wonderful day ahead.

Well i guess hes pretty lucky in the situtation but pretty bad that the taxi driver never turned it in with or without knowing what it was. I would be really mad if i lost my iphone my iphone i use so much and there is so many things on it. I really like it and it does me alot of justice. I just think someone should have turned the phone in. Im guessing your cousin has downloaded itunes for his use and plugged in the phone to it using his computer and restored the phone to brand new and it was a new phone with nothing on it.

I has seen the phone when my cousin had it but that time he could not make it work since it was locked somehow. he said it was from outside country and need to be done from there. So he had just kept it. But then from Fiji he had to go Australia for study purpose and he checked it out there and then he could get it fixed there. Now I guess he is using it. I guess I will go mad I if lost my iphone anytime if I have it. that will be a real bad trip. thanks for sharing and have a wonderful day ahead.

It's weird that the real owner of that iphone did not call his lost cellphone, did he? and now your friend did not realize that he actually bought a considered stolen cellphone when he knew from the driver that it was left unknowingly by the passenger

Ohohoh, it must be fun having a free iphone. Congratulations on that luck your cousin had! Though, I wonder what happened to the person previously owning it before the driver.. Did he try to return it or simply kept it? :P

Ohhh that was very dishonest. If I had lost my iphone and it was not handed in or I couldn't retieve it I would be very upset. Your cousin should have said it's a phone and to hand it in to the police or something so they could find the owner. That's just now bad karma for him

I know but you can understand the logic behind it. The driver had it for about four months and he could not find the owner. He does not always see the back seat to see what people lost so that he can take it, but it is not the case. I don't know why he did not give to the police but the thing is he did not know it was a phone otherwise he would have given it to the police. It was late when my cousin got it and he tried to see the contacts and all but he could not on it at all. Do you understand what I am trying to say. It is not stealing at all. I think many people are mistaking it for stealing. But it was not. The driver had found it and he had no idea that it was a phone. thanks for sharing and have a wonderful day ahead.

Wow your cousin was lucky tough luck for who ever left that phone, i know that i will not be able to resist buying it but i think my guilt will get the best of me and i am afraid that the owner may die and haunt me for taking the phone so i think i will sell it to if i do get the phone. Tough luck also for the driver for not knowing that it was an Iphone.
