Child beauty pageants

Today I watched an episode of Cooper Anderson. It dealt with a 3 year old girl that was in beauty pageants and this 3 year old was dressed provocatively. Now to me, a 3 year old is a child that should be doing 3 year old child things. She shouldn't be wearing makeup, wigs and provocative clothing. I would be afraid of child predators seeing a 3 year old prancing around in provocative clothing. The mother stated that she spent $25,000 over a 3 year period for her 3 year old daughter to perform in these pageants. Now wouldn't that $25,000 be better spent on her education? I wonder if the mother is trying to live her life through her daughter? Any thoughts on 3 year olds being in beauty pageants where the child is made up as an adult?

A lot of times you are correct it is the mother living through her child and yes that money is better spent on school, clothes and stuff that child really needs or even that there family really needs. Now I don't see anything wrong with a little girl wearing making up. I have a daughter she is 1 years old and even she likes to wear make up like her mommy. I don't wear make up that often but when she seem me putting it on she wants to wear it. I pretend to put things one her when she see that. But like all little girls I know she will go through that stage of dressing up and wanting to wear things of mommy. Normal and perfectly natural. If my daughter wanted to pageants I would let her but only in natural never the glites pagents because that is where they where all that stuff. I want her to be a little girl as long as possible and wear little girl clothes and I wouldn't spend money left and right on it either. Other wise I think she play at home doing all that stuff. Yes there my daughter is in the safety of my home.

I agree with you ShyBear88!! Granted, I never had a daughter, but children do go through stages; however, a child at that age doesn't know what they want to do. The parent should allow there child to be a child, not using their child for financial gain.

Just because a child is a child of any age doesn't mean they don't know what they want to do nor what they do not like or like. My daughter is one and I can tell you every little thing that she does like and what she likes to do for fun. The age of child has nothing to do with what they do or don't like to do. It's the parent and if they don't pay attention to what there child likes and stuff of course they are going to do things that child doesn't like doing. There will always be parents putting there kids into things that child doesn't like because they feel that they will like them. Weather a parent has a girl or not even boy's like that stuff. Yes that child might be young but that doesn't mean they don't have a mind of there own and know what they want. My child always knows what she wants to do. It's about is it safe enough to do. She might want to walk in the street but I don't let her. She likes to swim so I would take her swimming and so on.

I don't like seeing kids wearing high heeled shoes, but nowadays it seems to be a fad. Why can't we just let kids be kids? If I had a daughter, I wouldn't allow her to wear high heeled shoes.
