Philippines is my country and home. Lately I have heard a news that our President Noynoy Aquino is doing his best to lift the economic status of the country. I feel so happy that he never losses hope that one day Philippines will rise again. There might not be a lot of good people in the government governing but at least the Filipinos find hope to news like this. Filipinos abroad help a lot to the Philippine economy. I am so grateful for these unsung heroes. Kudos to all! There is another way to lift the Philippine economy, it is to improve the tourism. A lot of tourists used to visit the country for its beautiful beaches than the other neighboring countries but we are losing the tourists. Our department of tourism is doing a lot of advertisements, how about we help too. There are many places to visit in this lovely country. From north to south visitors will enjoy every corner of it. What are the places in the Philippines that you would recommend for tourists to visit? Let's help each other promote our countries pride.

I am not a Filipino and however not associated directly with Philippines. I have some friends from Philippines, one is my very good friend. She lives in Quezon city near Manila. I dont know much places in Philippines but i want to appreciate for whatever you are doing to help your country. It's a lovely thought and I believe and I have heard that Philippines is a very beautiful country with some very outstanding and famous beaches. Tourists will definitely get attracted to it and your efforts will never go waste. Keep up the good work.

Hello there my friend. I am so glad to hear that even though you are not from the Philippines, you know that the country is a good place to visit. My goal is unite Filipinos in a simple way "promote tourism" to attract visitors and help the country lifts its economic status. I would like to share another place to visit. Since you mentioned beaches, one of the famous is "Boracay". It is an island with long white beaches and tourists go there every day, there is no season in particular, anyway Philippines has only two seasons "dry and wet". Below is link for more information and pictures about this beach. http://wikitravel.org/en/Boracayay. I am hoping that you could visit your friend and the country one day. I am from Quezon City too. Thnak you for supporting me. Honestly when I saw that another person noticed I was so happy to see, read and reply. Though you are not a Filipino I appreciate so much that you are helping me keep the topic active. I don't easily lose hope so I'll be patiently waiting for others to notice this. Thank you again! Kudos to you my friend!

I for one would like to recommend the summer capital of Quezon Province which is the town of Lucban. It is 2-3 hrs drive from Manila. Lucban is the home of the third (or fourth?) largest statue of Christ in the world - Kamay ni Hesus. The town itself is not that large area and every place can be reached through walking. There is a large variety of foods there to satisfy each and everyone's tastes. But they are famous for Longanisang Lucban and Pancit Habhab (the kind of noodles that you get to eat without using any utensil, hence the term "habhab"). The people are friendly and the mood there is festive, especially during the month of May when they celebrate San Isidro Pahiyas festival. A perk is that the temperature in Lucban ranges from 18-27 degrees celsius, that's why it is termed as the summer capital in Quezon. There are lots of pasalubong stores too and accomodations for the tourists. Oh, there are so many things that makes Lucban one of the towns that the Philippines can be proud. Indeed, it is more fun in the Philippines!

Thnak you for your very informative reply. You are a true Filipino. You know where and what are the good things about that place. Kudos to you! I hope there will be lot of us who will be promoting the country's beautiful places. I would recommend the beaches of Catanduanes, an island in region 5. Tourists love this island for having great waves to surf and the black healing sand. It is easy to reach, there is an airport and a port for whatever means of transportation tourists would prefer. The month of May is the best month to visit the places surrounding Catanduanes. There are a lot of fiestas and the people are very friendly and accommodating. Let's support our Phlippine Tourism. It is more fun in the Philippines!
