life extension technology

During the late 80s life extension was becoming a powerful topic of discussion in mass magazines and jounals like scientific american ...the overall discussion was greatly focused on the reality and ethics of such technology. Then in the 90's these same media began to shift their conceptual paradigms to the WHEN and HOW of such technology...and in fact, some articles quoted the existance of such technology in 30 yrs...Today, 30 years still seems to be the standard given goal time for L.E. tech. to become a marketable reality. So, I simply want to ask...what are some very clear articles explaining the various scientific technologies like nanotechnology, bio markers and genetics etc... that explore life extension; articles that clearly explain the processes and hurdles they have overcome; where each of these technologies stand today; the processes and hurdles they still need to overcome to make LE a reality; the costs of such R & D and how this translates into the marketing of the final product and finally, articles not convoluted with the ethics or morality of such sciences - before anyone gets offended i am interested in the ethics and the effects of LE. I however believe that such technology is as inevitable as our innate need to survive and that alot of good can come from such technologies and their R & D.

The idea of extending one's life through science is a fascinating thing to forward to. Despite the costs of such a feat, I think if it were to happen in a few decades, I would be glad to know I still lived during that period. I don't really have any objections to applying technology to one's body in order to sustain a longer lasting life. Basically, this reminds of me of the French explorer, Juan Ponce de Leon, who spent his life searching for the fountain of youth. Throughout history, the human race has always be searching ways to reach perfection. With this type of technology, it is just another way human beings still desire perfection.

this is my obsession, You know what? I am saving lots of money so i can afford stemcell treatments and I am saving money in hopes that I will be able to afford organ printing and the nanobot technology once its available. I would love to live up to five hundred years. I will also want my family to afford these treatments. I wanna live longer beyond the norm. we know healthy lifestyle is not enough.

There's a lot of buzz about intermittant fasting at the moment, whatch this and see what you think http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pfna7nV7WaM I've been trying to get near 600 cals for the weight loss, but it's hard. Technicaly, if you go over a bit the process just takes longer (I lost 5 pounds in a week)
