Do you find the beauty of the beach so relaxing?

I have been to beautiful beaches here in the Philippines a few times, but I always remember the experience as very memorable and relaxing. The beach is such a place where you could let go of all your worries and just simply enjoy the beauty of the surroundings. Just listening to the waves gives such a relaxing effect, plus the coconut trees all around makes you feel so much comfortable and in touch with nature. How about you, how does going to the beach affect you? Does it also give you some kind of relaxing effect in your whole being?

I live just three to four miles from the sea. my nearest beaches include a town beach, a village beach at Up Hill and a wild looking beach at Sand Bay. I take my kids to play on the beach on the town beach usually the sandy bay next to the boating pool. My disabled son likes to dig with space and my daughter makes sandcastles. I find the sound of the waves splashing very relaxing and calming. It is unfortunate that due to dangerous tides and sinking mud means swimming in the sea isn't possible. In the summer break I took my kids on a weeks holiday to Cornwall. We saw some splendid looking beaches there. I found it so very relaxing to spend time on one of those sandy beaches. We walked through a steep hillside garden and at the bottom found a shingle beach. It can be a struggle pushing my disabled son's wheelchair on a beach or getting there can be tricky. The effort is always worth it and the beach experience very soon relaxes me. My favorite sort of beach I can sometimes see on my overseas travels. I adore palm fringed beaches and it is even better when there are snorkeling chances around a nearby coral reef. The sea is delightfully warm in a destination like that. Then I feel I have perfection.

You're probably talking about beaches filled with palm trees around when you say 'palm fringed beaches' and I do love palm trees and it's equivalent here in our country are coconut trees and our beaches are usually filled with them. Yes, the sound of the waves splashing and the overall silence and serenity of the places makes the experiences such a relaxing one and energizes us when we go back to our usual chores when we come back.

VirginBeaches (I intentionally attach the words so you wont get mature content tag)are the most superior for me , I prefer them over resort beaches because untouchsed by civilization type of beaches will make you feel closer to mother nature. I do enjoy resort beaches though I guess because you have a comfortable hotel accommodation to stay with. I love burying my body in the sand then drenching to the water afterwards.

I think when I was very young I was also able to visit a virgin beach and I remember it was very relaxing and enjoyable. For me, virgin beaches and resort beaches are both good, but I would also prefer virgin beaches if I am to get a trip again in one of the beaches here in the Philippines. Playing with or in the sand seems like fun. I would like to try that someday :)

i agree, we truly have beautiful beaches in our shorelines that i find so much better than those i have experienced in bali and in ho chi minh. not saying that theirs aren't beautiful... just that i prefer ours. there is something calming about crystal waters where the sun casts its light's reflection and the crisp morning air amidst the sound of soft waves that rushes sofly thru the shorelines. i find myself always enjoying a walk near the edge of a beach whether it's early morning or near dusk. the walk, the view, the sounds... relaxing the mind and the senses. sitting at the sandy beach can be quite a reflection too while enjoying the peace. at times, it's romantic i would say when there's a soft breeze and it would be nice to cuddle up some. i like beaches much better when it's not too crowded and commercialized. i appreciate it's natural beauty more if establishments are farther along the beach and not near the shores.

there's something about the fresh air that heightens the appetite when eating beside the beach. mmmmmm... hot off the grill seafoods with steamed rice, vegies on the side, tropical fruits for dessert and some buco juice to cool us down. then a leisurely walk followed by a nap on the beach sand. lolz i miss all that. when i lived in davao city before, we often go to a beach resort early in the morning to have a relaxing day after a stressful week. it was just a few minutes travel by car and then by boat. easy access. it's one of the things i missed when i moved to manila and then to the province. goodluck to your plans. enjoy!

Thanks mylesnarvaez! Anyway, I got hungry now with all the food you mentioned...yummy! I would add grilled barbecue could be one great addition to the occasion. My brother lives in Davao now and he told me how relaxing it is to go to the beach near their location and he showed me some really nice pictures of his travel there with his whole family.

Yes, I felt everything you explained here when I was in one of our beaches in the Philippines. It has been a long time since I visited one of our beaches so I really wanted to plan a beach trip in the future, in the near future I hope. I remember also experiencing such pleasure when you eat beside the beach when we were eating mostly seafoods. I found that eating fresh seafoods besides the beach is such a fantastic feeling that I wanted to experience again :)

Yes, I think the last time I visited a beach is several years ago. I would want to plan a trip to the beach in the future. I remember in my previous travel in a beach is that you enjoy eating sea foods so much when beside the beach. I had such a fantastic time at that moment that I told myself "this is the life!" LOL. It felt close to heaven and being so young I didn't have many things to worry yet.
