How do you turn down a guy nicely

So two years ago my bestfriend who is a guy in college moved and went to another school. We hang out a lot while he was at my school. Last month, he came to visit me and I was really happy about that. The problem is he starts hinting that he likes me more than just a friend and last night he asked me out for a 'formal' date. He was always nice and very much a gentleman before but it's a little different now. My other friends use to say that he secretly likes me but I just ignored them because he is like my brother. I love him a lot but just as friends and no more than that... at least that's how I feel at the moment. He is good looking so I see no problem for him getting dates. I just don't want to ruin what we have. I know he will make a great boyfriend but he was just my bestfriend for so long that it's really weird for me.

The best way not to busted a guy is, to let them know it prior to the courting stage. Since, it was your best pal, it is unavoidable that friendship blossoms to a true love. Talk to him directly and say, both of you are only friends.

Friendship is always the gateway to have a relationship as a best friend or become a lover. That is just a normal thing that the guy likes you as he sees you fitting to be his girlfriend. Now,it could also be normal reaction that he would now avoids you because you rejected his proposal to win your love. You could now test your feelings if he is really not your type of a man.You could now realized that he was really important as a part in your life, yet he was never seen because you neglected him.You could now know if you also have hidden feelings towards him,but just ashamed to reveal because you were friends. If you love him try to win back his heart and he will definitely joins you back for the sake of your relationship, and now as a lover.

It might hurt him to be turned down, but telling him the truth about how you feel towards him is the only way. Tell him that you only see him as a brother and nothing more than that. And that you are better off as friends.

Tell him that it feels weird. The word weird bails you out in almost all situations.
