can i earn from facebook

hello there... i joined facebook for i guess five years already. but never heard anything that i can earn in here or never had an opportunity to have an income in this site. i guess the same to all of my friends in here for never heard they earned too in this site. but i do not know about others. in my case, i am not earning in fb. just used this site for interacting with friends. thanks for the opportunity
