I am planning on studying abroad (Canada). I am not 100% percent decided yet and I have until the end of the year to decide. I have never really lived way from family and friends and I'm really nervous about being a loner there. Can you share your experiences. Thank you!

I have a very good friend who just arrived from studying in Germany. From what I heard from him, there are many adjustments he made while staying there for like two years for his masters degree. One of those are the weather/climate. We live in a tropical country and he really had the hard time when he first experience snow. I think that it would be one of the considerations you should take. Another thing is language. But I don't think this will be a problem in Canada unlike Germany. And of course, you should have money. My friend was a university scholar but he still needed a big amount of money before he actually went to that country. Taking into consideration that the cost of living in there is far higher than in our country. I bought some medicines and ready to eat food that he brought with him. We also bought a laptop because this would be very necessary for his studies. He also had the hard time at first because he knows no one from that country but sooner, he was able to find friends as well. But he always makes sure that he put his studies as his top priority. Those are some of the things I know. I hope that helps.

It is best you could avail the foreign exchange in studying abroad because it is free yet you must strive to study harder to maintain your high grades so that you could finish your scholarship as well as enjoy your studies and stay of host country without any obligations.I have a classmate before with that study plan and he was a Nigerian national, there was also a Jordanian one.

Well it is great to hear about your decision to study abroad, but before u take any further decision make sure that the institution that u are going to enroll will equip you with the best of knowledge or not. If not then it would be better to stay in your own country and try for the best institutes. That will also keep u a bit closer to your parents. What say?
