I may say it's still early to plan but holidays are coming here in the country I am living right now ... October 1-7 ... Ntaional Holiday in China and early next year for the Spring Festival. I had been wishing I could go home to my hometown but since we are experiencing some budgeting I listened to my husband ... stay around here is better. But I know he won't just let our holidays stay at home, so now I'm surfing for places to go ... nearby cities or nearby country sides? If it's the country, we'll go to our father's place. Spend some tiem there, enjoy the scenes and also mingle with othe rrelatives. That is a very peaceful way to have a vacation. Not much of electronics to bother me and not too much too worry about work or anything because we are far form the city. If we decided to go in the city, well, I hope to see new things that will entertain not irritate me such as traffic, too many people, heat or the noise itself. And I'm sure it won't take long because teh accommodation will be quite expensive. Oh well, I prefer the country I guess. I badly needed a rest. How about you my fellow mylotters? Which do you prefer and why? How often do you go on a vacation?

of course in the other country is the best but of course we need a lot of money,so if money is not enough to go to the other country i could say that its more good to stay in the city or go to the province where your relative or family lives.

. I say you are correct. If we cannot afford to travel. Vacation is well spent with family members.

Speaking of vacation, I would say country side is better. City life is full of charms, fun and fantacies but these all artificial. Only few people being assebled have made such residing places. Actually actual recreations exists in countrylife where we can listen to real birds chirpings, greeny bushes and branches, real life and living of majority of people etc. Actually country life of a country represents the life of a country. May be our ancestors was born in countryside and faded away into it. And so should be ours are the real peace of our life.

. I could. Not agree more. The real recreation of nature and life is in the country side.

No doubt, I prefer to have a vacation in the country side. I like the views along the way down to the low land areas. The distinct smell of air in the province seems so familiar, since I usually have vacation in my grandma's house.

I prefer much the vacation in the country. I grew up in the city that's why I always crave to go to where you would enjoy the nature itself, where only humming of the birds is present and wind sways your hair. I love the idea of serene place with the ocean. Simplicity I guess hunts my busy life in the city. This coming weekend I have filed a vacation leave and I am again excited because we will go to a beach in the north side of the country. I have never been there so I guess I will truly enjoy it. So friend, let us enjoy life =)

I go on a vacation at least once a year and it is preferably twice a year. I got my disabled son 10 days off school and added it to all of the Easter holidays. We traveled for one month to South America visiting Argentina, Chile, Brazil and Uruguay. My disabled son broke his leg three weeks before that trip began. He is in a wheelchair and I had to take very special care of him. He had to have an appointment the day before our trip and the day after our trip with the consultant. In July we had a one week vacation in Cornwall. We stayed in a bungalow and we did day out to interesting places. We saw beaches, gardens and a bird park. I visit places where it is easy to push my disabled son's wheelchair. I prefer the countryside to the city. However cities are easier than countryside when pushing a wheelchair.

I am so glad to know that despite the busy days in your life you are still able to pull a vacation for you and your son. I salute you for being so strong. Carrying your son with extra wheelchair needs a lot of strength and patience. I agree the city has better roads or streets to push the wheelchair but I am glad you choose the countryside because nature is more interesting than the buildings and stores around.

If I go on a long trip I prefer to combine both things and visit some of the big cities as well as some of the places in the countryside. In Latvia I stayed in the capital and went on a daytrip to a small village in the countryside. It was a very nice combination. I enjoyed staying in the capital where there were lots of things to see and do, but it was also very nice to visit a peaceful village in the countryside. If my time is limited I usually choose to spend all of my time in the city, because in my everyday life I live in a small town on an island and when I travel I like to see something different like cities which lots of interesting places to visit and things to do. I would love to go on vacation every year, but I can't afford that. I am going on a long trip this year and my next trip will probably take place around 2016 because that will also be a long and expensive trip and it will take me a long time to save up the money for that trip.

good for you. You were able to enjoy both city and the countryside. I wish to do that in a trip. Since your next trip is on 2016, good luck I saving for a longer and expensive trip.

I would prefer spending vacation in a country side than in the city. I was born and grew in the province (countryside) but looked for job in the city and had lived since then until now that i am already a stay at home mother to three adults. I miss country life so much, the fresh air, the food, scenery, and, the people who generally are more friendly, concerned and helpful compared to people living in the city. if my children's work schedules would allow we try to spend at least a week of country life every summer.

The fresh air, food, scenery and the people are all good. You are absolutely right. You are a people person because you have noticed them. Back in the city I seldom see or talk to my neighbor because they are very busy and so am I. But in the country, I always see them because even they are just passing by, they would usually call out and say "neighbor, we just passing by, hope you're doing well". I miss those people. I hope you'll have longer vacations.

Hi freedang, School will always be there but spending some time with your family is more precious. I am sure they would be happy to see you too and spend some time with them. I suggest you go home. If only I could (I mean the fare/airplane ticket is very expensive) I would always do every week.
