Do you still listen on the radio?

August 30, 2012 11:57am CST
With all the electronic gadgets coming about, all thanks to the fast-growing technology, we can listen to our favorite songs anytime, anywhere. I hardly listen to the radio nowadays because I prefer to listen to my favorites and I can search for new songs from my favorite singers online. Television shows and the internet is also a big help to satisfy my music needs. Cars also have the technology which allow us to plug-and-play our gadgets so we could listen to the songs that we want. So considering all the new technology coming about, what is your answer?

Hi, I do love listening to the radio even if I have all the information superhighway in my fingertips, entertainment, and all. Strange, but I still need the old transistor radio for some news, commentaries and on the spot events. Things would come to a head in times when there is a power interruption and all gadgets goes out except the old battery-powered transistor. For this purpose, I just saw and ordered on eBay a hand crank, solar powered, flashlight radio to incorporate it my survival kit in times of emergencies.

Hi Belen! I also like listening to radio almost every day and every night. My favorite morning AM radio program, The Morning Rush with Kikay barkada (formerly Morning rush with chico and delamar) makes my day complete. I just love this wacky trio. In the evening, I listen to Veritas 846's "Hello Father".

About the only place I listen to the radio anymore is if I'm in the car driving, I don't have plug and play but I have a CD player in it. Seems like it might just be habit, but I like listening to new music s it comes out. There have been a lot of times where someone mentions a song or video that I see online and hear it weeks before I hear it on the radio, though. I usually turn on pandora in the house and bluetooth it to my soundbar and I listen to pandora at the gym.

Hello there Rannie. In my case, even though there are already a lot of gadgets available around us, I still find myself listening on the radio. We still have it in my sister's house so when I stay there, we still use it and listen to it. I think listening to the radio is still okay with me. I grew up using it before and I still want to do it until now. I also use the computer in searching and listening to my favorite songs but I still love listening to the radio at times. It's because I want to know the latest top songs playing on the radio in my place. I want to know about the recent nice music I could listen to on the radio. I also love listening to some old songs at times so I just listen to what the DJs would play. Through the songs on the radio, I could think of the good and bad times I had in my life before. The good music I hear on the radio could really make me smile. So, even though there are already a lot of hi-tech gadgets around, I still take time listening on the radio. Happy myLotting. :)

I think I could say that radio have been a part of my life since my younger years up to the present. I enjoyed listening to how DJ's pronounced words, how they talked in the air is already music to my ears. What more if I hear my favorite songs played. Aside from the news, listening to the radio made me sleep faster as if the sound is a lullaby singing for me. Yes, there are new gadgets but my radio will be included in it.

Television, computer and cellphone took over the radio but I still keep one intact. When I'm out in the garden, I switch it on to my favorite FM station playing pure country music. I also have a transistor radio which comes in handy on stormy days when electric power is out and keep me updated w/ the weather condition.

I like to listen to the morning program on my way to work to keep my company. In the evenings I'm on my own music list.

I definitely still listen to the radio. It is easy to access, and there is variety. I don't listen to it at home, but I usually have it going in the car. Having said that my cd player does not work so that could be a reason why I have the radio on so much in the car. As far as ipod and the other new technologies, I use them sparingly for listening to music.

I like to listen to the radio when driving. Especially when I am going on a long distance journey. My favourites are always light and easy songs, the news and the traffic reports.

Honestly, I don't listen to radios anymore. I just come to listen to it if ever it's brownout and we need to know the announcements about the weather. But for lean times, I use my phone or computer to play some music, our dvd or cd player as well. But still, even if I don't use it more often, I think it's still a great purpose. :)

In a way, you're right. If we talk about ease on listening to your preferred music, new gadgets today are great. But I still find it awesome listening to radio every morning. You get to listen to random songs, different variety of them played by the DJ. You also get to hear public news and showbiz as well. The best part is you get to enjoy different opinions of every caller everytime the DJ has a topic to talk about or question. But wait there's more! ^_^ because sometimes they also give prizes to callers! That's it, I still listen to radio. Maybe you too, every now and then you should tune in to sometimes.
