I do not see good discussions..

I will like to make it clear that I am not intending to blame other members of mylot for the content below.
I do not get enough time to sit on mylot everyday. So whenever I came I try to search as many topics under my interest as I can. I go through various profiles and see if I they have something for me. But I have not seen discussions in some of my visit. Mylot is a very big place where every one get opportunity to write. I do not know then what actually is the issue. Either I am not very much spread yet in this site and I am limited to some of the interests and friends. I do not know. I will try and do possible efforts to make sure I get enough to write. All I want from you is to share whether you also feel same or you felt same at some point of time since you have joined mylot...

I hope you will branch out and try to answer some discussions other than fit your interests. In doing this you may come across some that you do like. Mylot is alot less active than it used to be. I used to get anywhere from 50-250 discussions and responses daily that came to my email. Now days i don't even get notifications to my email anymore.

You can check the discussions answers inside mylot. I find that is better because the email doesn`t get full.

Yes even I have noticed not all of my responses when commented back do not get informed to me as notification. It happens more when there are a lot of notifications already for that day.
I answer to the topics that I had not added in as my interest and in the process get to know much more. It is only some days that I do not get good discussions to respond back to.

That gives you an opportunity to start a good one then.
How many active friends do you have here on mylot? When you added friends on mylot, did you check if their interests are inclined with yours?
I noticed that most of the newbies here have been posting here and there discussions that are obviously in violation of the guidelines. There are also those, for the purpose of earning money, would post every single happening to them that day. Well, they just want to earn money.
There are a lot who do post things that are very interesting enough to start off a great discussion. All you have to do is widen your horizon.

@raj, I don't get you wrong. I was doing the same thing long ago, till i get tired because most of them don't learn anyway. Some are too stubborn or they just find it too difficult to follow the guidelines. And i'm not the only one here who has done that. The rest of the veterans here have given up too.

I agree with you toniganzon and so do I with rajanitishnaik. I see a valid point in choosing friends who have common interest as of mine. Not limiting to this we should also have variety of other friends to get further new interest inculcated into ourselves. I do not want this website to be a place of sharing experience. Of course you are free to do so and you are encouraged for the same as far as it has a fair relevance with world in some or the other sense. But sharing every little happening of the day which may be rather unimportant from any view should be avoided.

Do you have all of the notifications for your friend's discussions on? I have all of mine on, so I get every single one of my friend's discussions in my inbox. Which is why I'm responding to yours. You are on my friend list. And I find the interesting discussions often come from the people on that list. I go through their discussions before I go through anyone else's. I feel that if they are on my friend list I owe it to them to put their discussions first. There are plenty of good discussions. You just have to look.

Yes I avail that benefit too. Whenever there is some new discussions I have its notification in my inbox. There have been some days when I have experienced what I have mentioned above. I do not know how sensible I appear to you people by the posts I do or the discussions I start, but I seriously feel that no one should start a discussion with any thing they experience. With a proper synchronization and a good language, an experience can be framed into a discussion.

Mylotter come from different part of the globe, with different time table.
Maybe some mylotters already posted interesting topics before you came.
It also happens to me.
There are times that I log in with different time and find not so interesting topics.
So, i do is scan through new topics and friend's started- pages by pages.

Hello, Gautam! I know what you mean. There are just some days that the topics posted are not that interesting as other days. Some discussions would be like those that have been posted before and does not give any additional "zing" to make it more interesting to respond to. Don't worry, am sure other mylotters have same sentiments sometimes. Smile!

I've been noticing that lately it's been difficult to find discussions to comment on. I'll go through 30 pages of discussions and comment on only about 2 or 3. I used to be able to post much more but now I can't find anything that interests me. I also try to make my own discussions but sometimes I find it hard because I don't always have a topic.
