"Spread The Awareness" Phenomenon

I'm pretty sure most of us have seen quite a few posts, statuses and updates on Facebook with "Share this so people can see" or "Every like this picture gets, a starving kid in Africa gets a sandwich". You know all those "Share this, like this" things on Facebook that attempt to spread awareness. Am I the only one who's annoyed by it? I mean, if you really wanna help a starving kid in Africa just donate food to the nearest charity of the sort. If you are really against animal abuse, go to the street and protest. I don't get it, do people really think that if you share something or "like" it all of the sudden makes you a better person? Like, I don't know... Can somebody explain this to me? Now, I'm not saying I'm against it. It's just that sometimes I would log in into Facebook and what do I see on my front page? A baby covered in blood with the title "share this so the baby can have a surgery to save its life". Better yet, a dead dog lying on the street all squished with the title "share this if you are against animal abuse". These images can be really brutal sometimes... The only case these "spread the awareness" things really help is when you share a "missing person". 2 missing people have been found this way where I live, so hands down to that. What do you think?

I agree with you all this share or like or both gets quite annoying and as you said if you really want to help then send money to those organizations, or volunteer. As for the missing person I also agree, that you should share the photo because it will help to find the person. I'm happy to hear that 2 in your area were found. These are the ones we really need to keep sharing. Have a great day.
