Two Encroaching Spiders

I normally leave any spiders that I see around my house alone because I figure they will get any bugs that might get in. The exception is when they invade my space. Recently I encountered two such encroaching spiders. One was a couple of days ago and ran out from my bananas when I went to get one and under a knife block nearby. I got something to try to kill it but when I moved the knife block, it was too quick and ran off the edge of the counter and behind the stove. The second one was today when I sat down in my recliner. One ran across my bare arm, across my leg and over the front of the chair between my legs. Then it made a mistake, it stopped. There was something nearby that I could get with hardly moving that I used to squash it. So the count ended up being 1 for 2 on encroaching spiders. I really don't like it when they get on me or on my food.

I'm a lot like you, if they are small and not on me or my food, I'm inclined to let them be. However, the roommate isn't so forgiving. Outside she's fine - so long as they aren't in her face, but inside...
I know a few people that even feel that they need to die anywhere they see them.
Anything that eat bugs (or rodents) is a friend of mine.

Hello stealthy I think just like you do: don´t invade my space.
I hate spiders, I really do, indeed they are my nightmare, at least I have shouted at night 15 times because I have the nightmare that a spider is coming up to my nose. But a really ugly spider.
It´s very common to my husband that I shout at midnight withour reason: the spider, a spider, the spider!
The first time I began doing this was when my mother in law gave my kid a pijama with spiders (it was when spiderman was released at movie 10 years ago) since then I use to get awake at night screaming about the spider. At least once a month.
I think it is because my parents had a big garden, and more than once I had a very big garden spider beside my bare feet.
So if see a spider in our home, I splash it, or spray it.
Blessings stealthy... dainy
