If you could start all over again, would you do the same?

Hi, I have one those unique opportunities in life which is the option to work in something totally different I used to do or to carry on and stay in the same track in which I've been working for the past 8 years. You know what, it's freaking hard to make this decision. I though it'd easy, but NO, it isn't!!!! Regarding the pros cons of staying in the same field I think the first question I should ask is: was I happy doing what I used to do? Then, will I be happy doing something else? Really? That would be the main question?!!?!?! Or should I ask: Have I made good money doing what I used to do? or will I make much more money doing this other thing? It's hard... What would you do if you had this chance?

i have been in this situation before when i had to choose from two job offers. The other was really good, they gave me a fair salary, and even increased when i told them it was not what i have expected. I basically thought i could just grabbed the offer and left the current work i was with back then.(which i intend to leave too because i just could no longer stand them anymore!) The thing is there were other factors that held me back and it turned out to be a good decision after all. Otherwise i would not have applied to the current company i am with right now. The difference was just like about a month of waiting time. Had i hurried i would really ahve been stuck in there.. i do not know what kind of work they have there though but i am quite sute i would not be as happy as i am right now with the other company. I guess there is really value in waiting, when you had to wait, pray and really try to decide and take time. If you just look at what is visible to you such as the salary, the benefits, we can often be mislead.

Thank you! I agree that to take time is the better option. After all, we don't what the waves can bring us. It's been 30 days I'm in this situation and I'm not worried about financial matters, I have it under control. It's more something inside of me that wants me to decide. It could be anxiety. I need to have patience. That's the key. Maybe this period has come so I develop more patience.

if given the chance of restarting over again i think there are some phases which i may opt taking a different route so as to avoid the pitfalls i've gone through.

Yeah, that would be great... However, I believe that evolving is connected with leaving your comfort zone and doing so, we get expose to hard times. The result of this decision is the success though.

If -'m that desperate to have a bigger salary, I'll try to change my field of work if they'll pay me bigger than my salary now. Yes, it will be another adjusting period. That's new to us so we are beginners in that area. It's a bit challenging too. However, staying in our current field is also good. Here, you can be at ease doing your job. You've gain a lot of experiences at work so you have nothing to worry about. However, if you want to a risk then go for it. Opportunity knocks only once. Happy mylotting.

I think you agree with me then that it's a very difficult decision to make. We have good things to be considered in both sides which are relevant. The doubt remains...
