Never Think That Your Loved One Can Supply You The Joy That You Need

If there is one thing that I have been learning in a relationship of any kind is this: I should never think that he/she can provide me the joy that I need to survive everyday. Joy in the heart is something that I need for me to enjoy my life in the midst of this crazy messy world. I need joy to keep me going in the midst of failure. Others say that they are happy because they have family with them or they have their respective better-half. Likewise, I have loved ones and I am glad to see them in good health. But I guess,they cannot give something that they also need. So, I resolved to simply get rid of the thought that they are the source of my joy. Otherwise, I will just find myself longing and longing. Marriage is not even a solution towards real joyful life. Marriage simply paves my way going to maturity in thinking. I have learned that not even partners can really fill my heart with joy and inspires me to live on happily. The joy must be supplied within me so I will not source it out from anyone nor anything.

its also the same with stuff. we think that if we buy a car that we will be happy and after we buy it ,the happiness that we expected does not materialize.Yes I so agree with you, only you and me can make ourselves happy and be content in who we are and the other people who come in our life will find us happy.

You are right. It is a decision to be happy and it does not really depend on any one nor any circumstance.

I have learned that I should not rely on others for my happiness because the moment they are gone, happiness would leave me too. But if i rely on me for my own happiness, then i'm certain i would be happy forever. The people who love me are just the toppings to spice up the happiness that i already have inside me. I cannot afford to be broken.

That is what I am telling to myself, too. And besides, our loved ones also have the need for joy or happiness that we cannot give, too because we ourselves are trying to find it, too.

One must love themselves first in order to get love or joy from others. You must feel those emotions first from within yourself before you can truly find it in others.

I am searching for one who can understand me completely.But after reading your post I thought that a person cannot get all of his joy from a single person.Joy is a thing which we get us mostly from our luck.overall I am agree with your thought.
