Anyone knows about advantages of artificial leaf

My daughter needs some information about artificial leaf she gathered more information from google but she not found the advantages and disadvantages of artificial leaf. If you know according to your knowledge or if you know special sites about this then share it your view. She is participating in competition and her topic is artificial leaf. Leaf related to trees not other meaning.

The difference between artificial leaf and the real leaf would be the same as would be the difference between any real thing or an artificial thing.
Take the example of an artificial eye. It just can not be like real natural eye.
Back to artifical leaf Vs natural leaf.
- an artificial leaf can not have veins or internal parts through which water and nourishment reach to its various corners.
- an artificial leaf does not perish as soon as a natural leaf would.
- its colour and weight can not be the same as that of natural leaf.
- you can keep artificial leaf indoor but a natural leaf requires fresh air and sun light to survive.
- an artificial leaf will never change its colour, on the other hand natural leaf would turn pale before dying.
I hope you could think similar points on the above analogy.

Thanks laddu for all this but she need advantages and disadvantages of artificial leaf. I think you points is good related to disadvantages. Do you know any site for helping her. I also try to find out but this is not possible for me because I dont know about science.

Now I am tired by searching but not found any proper site for advantages and disadvantges of artificial leaf. I think this is boring topic my daughter choose. I have no money for fees so wait till my mylot payout hahah....no chance of this month.

yes, i read from an article that artificial leaf is made of silicon and they look like a leaf. the only difference i they could inhibit energy such as hydrogen, and oxygen and could split the water through the help of the sun. this amazing invention is very helpful since it could be a cheap sources of energy. the mass production of it in the future when they lower the price could help a lot of people. it mention the artificial leaf is put in a container with water then store electrical energy that could be use to become sources of electricity.
