Can you imagine this movie (The Illusionist) without the illusion? Or can you picture this movie full of magic but devoid of love/drama?

I think love is true magic. As for the movie, I can't really imagine it would have much of a plot without the romance, outside of what an illusionist does.

Yes. I fully agree with you. The magic was just incidental to the plot. It's the love story that keeps the story flowing flawlessly. The movie is analogous to "Titanic" (Winslet version). The story was centered on love and romance. The sinking was just incidental to the story.

The Illusionist is a must-see for all magicians in the world. It puts emotion to every magical performances. Norton did a superb performance.
