Confusion with A2DP and ERD bluetooth

I bought a new Bluetooth Headset which is V2.0+EDR Specifications, and my mobile has bluetooth V2.0 with A2DP, when i am searching the device in mobile, it's not searching bluetooth headset. Does A2DP doesn't supports EDR?? Or is there any java application which i can install on mobile??
