girl-soldier-woman

Having been a competitive dancer since I could stand on my 2 feet, I've had to wear very heavy, dramatic make up for performances. Then, as I started to become a teenager, I started to subtly wear make up, nearly every day. I could not be seen without make up. At 16 I attended a military academy, and enlisted into the army when I turned 17. And you know how it goes: no-make-up-in-boot-camp. Yeah, that whole ordeal. I was no longer a girl. But I was becoming a woman. And now that I have been let back out into the public upon completion of all my necessary training, I am slowly getting back into the whole dressing-up-and-being-a-girl ordeal. I've bought make up to play with from time to time, and will play with my hair and clothes when I have the time and nothing else to get done. I don't feel the need to go back to the days of feeling I cannot be seen by another human being without my hair and make up all done up, but it is nice to play with my appearance every once in a while and on special occasions. How often do some of you get dressed up? What's the one thing you have to do before you walk out your front door?
