I Think I Got Contaminated!

My niece has cankersores all over her mouth. They brought her to the doctor for a check up and they have suspected it as foot and mouth disease.Yesterday, I felt like I have two cankersores both cheeks.This morning when I woke up I have already four!! I hate getting cankersores aside from it's painful it will make me loose my appetite.omg!!!

Well, unfortunately singaw that has been talked about by Belle wasn't a common singaw. The singaw has been suspected as a manifestation of foot and mouth disease . The singaw followed by losing the appetite , fever is one of a signs a person infected by the virus (it is a viral disease which could easily infect the people who live around the infected person).

Dear Belle,
I am so sorry to hear about that. I hope you will get well soon.
My son and I also have two mouth ulcers too. Due to the hot weather
and it seems we easily bite the wall of our cheek/gum when eating.
From there it started to the peak and it is so difficult to eat,
even we felt the pain when we talk.
In Sarawak, Malaysia there are many cases of hand,foot and mouth
disease too. Those infected have to see the doctor for medication.
It is advisable those children to get immediate medication and care,
at times it is fatal.

Try to gargle warm water with salt and a teaspoon of vinegar. the said two additives serve as antibiotics. I hope you get weel soon...

Yes, vinegar is acid, in fact the main component if acetic acid or ethanoic acid. Some bacteria does not survive in acidic medium.

Are cankersores contagious? Hmm... but, I feel for you. It's one of many ailments that I really don't like. Try gargling with salt-water. Just add salt to lukewarm water.

Cankersores are not contagious. As I've written, the doctors suspected that my niece might have FOOT and MOUTH disease and this is contagious as it is considered as viral disease.

Do try to put some Pyralvex solution or dequadin paint ovefr it and gargle with a glass of warm water with salt to help dry up the canker sores. Hope you get well soon.

Thanks Jenny! I did what you've advised and also I ate lots of fruits lols.I don't want this to get me down. I have so many things to do and I should not lose my appetite because I need to eat to have energy to get things done. :)

That is definitely a good attitude to put on even if you think you are about to just lose hope in dealing with your canker sores. Don't worry! It will be gone in a few days.

I'm sorry to hear that ,dear. Yes HFMD is a viral disease which means it is cotagious. Eventhought the most risky victim is a child under 5 years old, it could infect an adult too. I suggest you beter to go to doctor,dear (ulcus on hand and mouth also lose the appetite are the sign and symptom). Do you have a fever?
