Need Ideas for Publicizing Fundraiser

I am doing a fundraising for a children's cancer organization. Why? Because Cancer SUCKS. Unfortunately, donations are really lagging. I am just not good at publicity. Anyone have succesful ideas for publicizing a fundraiser?

Where i live, alot of people will ask a popular radio station to announce it on air im sure they will be glad to do it
