How do you interpret this phrase? I just see that if people can't keep their promises then why do they make the promises in the first place. I have not made any promises in y life apart from the promise of marriage. Gosh I have never made any promise to anyone. i think I am doing good without promises..lol.. hey but have you given a thought to this ever. Have you made promises to anyone? How often do you make promises with people? Thanks for sharing and have a wonderful day ahead.

Hi! Nice to hear that you do not make promises and you are fine with it. Yes, it is true that if we are making a promise, we should fulfill it and if we can not, either we should inform the other person or we should not make it at the first instance. I dislike making false promises to others. If I can do something for others, I try my level best and if am unable to deliver the goods, I tell the other fellow well in advance - I am sorry, I won't be able to do it.

Yes , it is very difficult to keep promises . As now i will never make any promise . As we should only promise when we can handle it.

I don't do promise, if I can't do it. I still have the word of honor. Have a great day!

I agree with you, Shavkat! I don't make any promises either, because something unforseen could happen that I won't be able to keep a promise. I had a friend that told me that promises can be broken, so why promise some one something when you can't hold up to a promise?

Yeah I promised to someone, but yeah you know am just human being, we are subject to imperfections, there are sometimes that is excusable, but if it's intentionally done, so it's not... so not all promise are meant to be broken, some circumstances might explain why someone fail to fulfill his promises...

I don't make promises, I take them very seriously if someone make one to me. I don't think that promises are meant to be broken. If someone ask me to promise them something I tell them no for the simple reason you cannot be 100% sure that you are going to be able to keep it, because you never know what's going to happen. The only vows/promise I have ever taken were my wedding vows, I kept them my ex didn't. Oh well.
