http://ph.news.yahoo.com/jesus-married-papyrus-fragment-fuels-debate-212627918.html i saw this article on yahoo just today showing a little piece of ancient papyrus paper which has words that Jesus sad.. "my wife" When i was a kid, nothing was taught that Jesus was married..nor had any kids. But later on, especially when reading Dan Brown's novels, there were words said that he might be somehow married and had kids.. and well it still did not change what my Faith is. but as i shared these to some relatives, especially to older ones who are close minded, they get furious about it and gets mad even saying it is tainting Jesus' image especially when said that he might be probably married to Mary MAgdalene. I saw in an episode in Natgeo, that he might really be married to Mary Magdalene and that she might be the first apostle and not Peter and the catholic church, Vatican might just formulated things so to have Peter as the first one and leader..when in fact it is Mary MAgdalene...but since they want it all patriarchal.. it was changed to Peter. Maybe for some it is hard to register such things especially if one is close minded, right? i told these stuff to my grandmother before lol and she was furious at me as if i made some mistake and sin. I told her it still did not change my faith though... so what about you guys? what do you think of these stuff going on right now? just saying thoughts....

hi jazel. i have watched the national geographic documentation you have mentioned here as well. it has its claims but there are still a lot of to it that we should actually consider. the fact that there were too few evidences, we still have yet to see or know what could have been hidden from us. You mentioed also about Dan Brown's novel. Well it is a fiction and even if there are facts that were presented in the literature, we cannot use this as part of our reference because it sure will just put more confusion than clarification on the matter. It is okay to keep an open mind about the idea, let us not close our minds... but now we just have to trust in God and in Jesus as we always have. It does not matter if he was married, if he had kids with her too.. what's more important perhaps is that we have a deep relationship with him, no matter what.

yes he was made human so he can intermediate between god and people. and so he understands everything about us and knows where we are coming from. the thing is, we should first know ourselves and what we truly believe in. all other information we may uncover will never have to change how we trust and believe in God

For more information about the fraudulent writings known as the Gnostic Gospels you can check out 'got questions,org/gnostic gospels.' This is a serious study and not one to be taken lightly. The Early Church Father did not, and neither should we.

It is not actually the marriage but the act of fabricating lies about Jesus that bothers true Christians here. Getting married is not at all sinful. In fact marriage is a biblical thing. So if Jesus was indeed married to any woman during his stay on earth then there is really nothing wrong or no big deal at all. That is if that is the truth. But the fact is ...it is not true, it is a lie. The Bible did not say and did not give any hint that Jesus was ever married. The Bible has the name of His earthly mother and father, and sibling but no mention of the name of His wife. If He had a wife then the Bible would have stated it. So Jesus did not marry. He did not have a wife and this truth should never be distorted in any way. A Christian should be knowledgeable enough with the Bible so he won't be misled by anything that contradict the truths in the Bible. It is good if your faith did not change despite all the things you learned. Now those old relatives of yours who got furious have good reasons to react that way. You know why? It is because Dan Brown and others are trying to misled the people with fabricated lies about Jesus. What benefit would they derive out of this? Maybe they want to create controversies to earn money at the expense of Jesus but there is more than just earning money here. The fact is...this is attempt to discredit the fact that Jesus is God. This is an attempt to twist the belief of the people that Jesus is God in the flesh. This is an attempt to make people believe that Jesus is just an ordinary person like us. Being married, having children, are marks of being just an ordinary person so if Jesus went through that ordinary relationship and experience then they could somehow prove their allegation that Jesus is not God but merely human. Well and good if those who read these lies about Jesus remain steadfast in their belief in Jesus...but you know.... there are people whose faith can be easily swayed by rumors so as much as possible Christians would not want such kind or rumors and we can't blame those Christians and we can't call them not open-minded if they are furious when they hear lies about Jesus.

My Catholic religion says , Jesus is the Alpha and the Omega. He was never married to Mary Magdalene . He was pure . He can never be the first apostle be cause He is God , our Father and not a disciple like Peter. I respect their views.

I've read Dan Brown's "The DaVinci Code" and loved it! It left me thinking that, so many of us get married in a lifetime and God created us to have man and wife....so, why wouldn't Jesus be able to do the same? He was human just like us, but was entirely God. God sent Jesus to save us. I see it as, for example, a wall plug in. The outlet connects both electricity and the plug. Jesus was our outlet to God. If we plug in(human), to the outlet(Jesus; Human/God), then we can recive the electricity(God's grace). The only way we could ever connect to Jesus before would be on a human level. So, thats where there is a possibility that he was married. So many people misunderstand that marriage is a godly act.

Hi MeanToFly, you have a very good correlation of our connection with God and having Jesus as our outlet. When we are plugged in to God through Jesus, we will always be on the right track. It doesn't matter much to Christians if the Bible will be altered because of this new revelation. What's important is one's strong Faith in the Divine.

Jesus did marry. This was in the Gnostic gospels but they didn't make it to the Bible that we know now because of those prevailing issues about spirituality and sexuality at the time. It's good to know that the truth is slowly coming out. But I still think the reference to "my wife" has to be taken in context. We won't know for sure what he really referred to as his wife unless the other texts in the papyri become clear or if other documents will be found. Whether he might be referring literally to an actual wife as in the act of marriage between two persons or figuratively as being married to his mission or whatever, it still doesn't change the fact that he got married, not only once but actually on more than one occasion. Let's wait what other ancient documents will come up. The truth will set the world free.

Hello Jazel, some people simply didn't want to get out of the bible and believed it word by word as if that is our history of our world to boot. I don't know what come out of it but if Jesus wasn't a GOD, how come people get upset if they are sent back when they thought they have crossed the light. Faith is by choice, and i know for fact that God is real

I'm not very religious and I don't know all that much about the bible but I did see the Da Vinci code that you mentioned and I do find it quite interesting. I honestly wouldn't be surprised if the church covered this up but really who cares? If you have faith in something or someone why would such little things like that even matter? I would think the community would mainly be following what Jesus taught nd what he says rather than if he was married or had children. I think it might be true though
