Wanna change your hairstyle when you're stressed out?

When I saw the interest "stress" something just popped on my mind. Fellow mylotters would you dare to change your hairstyle when you are undergoing stress? Some people prefer to change their look. After having a different look, they'd feel better. How about you? Feel free to share your thoughts. Happy mylotting.

I have done that. :) it was actually a stress out of a complicated relationship. We were always having issues with my bf then. I have always been a simple lady without any fuss on fashion. I always loved my hair just as simple as it is. When we had a fight, it suddenly came to me to have a visit at the salon and had it colored. Everybody was surprised to see me for the very first time having a change in my looks. We also reconciled with my bf after that (I don't know if it's related to the change of my hair. lol.) That was 6 years ago... he is now the father of my 2 kids.

Oh, it was a part of your love story. Thanks for sharing it. I guess when we are stressed out, we sometimes want to feel fresh. By changing our hairstyle that will give us more confidence to face the problems which are causing us stress. LOL. Is that right. Haha. Anyways, thanks a lot for posting. Happy mylotting.

I heard about this all the time. Whenever a girl made a change in her hairstyle that is outside her usual trim, people would always ask (especially close friends), "did you guys break up or something?" LOL! But I don't really go for the change in hairstyle during times of stress. I wanna be able to do it when my mind is cleared because I might regret the outcome later on.

Yes, you're smart. When we are stressed, we no longer think about the possible outcomes. Let's just hope that the stylist is good enough. LOL. Thanks for sharing and happy mylotting.

Angel, i never want to change my hairstyle although i am upset or stress. There is one of my ex-colleagues who like to change the color that high-light her front hair. When she is in good mood, she will choose either red or yellow to high-light her front hair. But, when she is in bad mood, she will change her front hair color into purple. So, we always know when she is in good or bad mood through her front hair color.

I guess not changing your hairstyle is good. Some just regret after having a new one. Oh, your colleague is fond of having high-lights and the color depends on her mood. That's great to hear. At least, she won't change her hairstyle. Thanks for sharing and happy mylotting.

Women would sometimes do such drastic change when they are going through some life changing events like a break up from a boyfriend. I once had my hair cut when I was really in a phase that I had so many things going on in my life and that I just wanted to have a small change to make me feel better. I had my long hair (about 6 inches below my shoulders) to a bob cut. I don't usually wear my hair short, atleast not that short.

Wow, that was really short jenny1015. I don't wanna have a bob cut haircut but some women look beautiful with bob cuts. I guess I'm not one of them. LOL. Thanks for posting and happy mylotting.

I have done this a couple times but I always regretted it as I ended up with bad hair styles which made me feel even more terrible. So even though I feel like having my hair cut, I resist, it just grows too slowly... But it's interesting how we can get rid of problems by changing our hair, actually this is the only part of our body that we can remove an amount of, without being hurt (ok, nails too)

Oh, poor hair. Yes, you're right. When we are upset or stressed, we always try to change our hairstyle. Sometimes the result is bad and we regret afterwards. LOL. I guess we should love our hair. Thanks for posting and happy mylotting.

Sometimes when I am stressed, I will want to have a new look and changing the hairstyle is one of the methods. And usually I will have a short hair after that. It seems that having a haircut can cut off all of my worries, troubles and so on. You will feel relaxed after that.

Yes, changing our appearance sometimes brings us luck. When we get stressed, we can do a lot of things. But for me, I'll set my mind to chance my hairstyle. I wanna have a new hairstyle and new hair color. However, I'm not stressed now but I wanna change my hairstyle. LOL. Thanks for sharing. Happy mylotting.

I haven't realized it until now but yes I think changing the hairstyle definitely helps reduce the stress because every time I get my hair cut or dyed, it uplifts my self-esteem and self-love. Therefore, I feel a little more relaxed and happy for myself. So somehow, it reduces the stress.

Yes I agree with you. It makes us feel younger and more beautiful. After having a haircut or a change of hairstyle, we feel like becoming a new person who's ready to fight all life's trials or challenges. It makes us somewhat confident. Thanks for posting and happy mylotting.

I have a friend who changes her hair every time she breaks up with the guy she is dating. She usually cuts her hair very short after letting it grow out quite a bit. The last time she cut her hair she had cut her waist length hair up to the nape of her neck and had it shaved. I understand that the guy she was with was mean to her, but I do not think she should have cut her hair immediately after because she was not thinking clearly and a week later she regretted her cut.

Oh, that was a sudden outburst. She shouldn't cut her hair like that. I guess she already learned her lesson. Thanks for sharing and happy mylotting.

Yes, having a cup of coffee will relieve my stress too. I haven't gone to a beauty salon lately. I just cut my hair and let my husband fix it. LOL. I have a favorite barber. I don't know how to call him because he's a gay. He's good in haircutting. However, I don't see him around nowadays. I hope he'll be back to work. Thanks for sharing and happy mylotting.

In my case, when I don't change my hairstyle I usually am stressed out and has no desire to change image or my look. Somehow when I feel refreshed and revive, expect me to feel inspired changing my look or get a fresh hair cut.

Yes, I have done this a couple of times. One time, i have gone from straight hair to curly. Another time, I had my hair cut off (half from it's length) and then the other time, I had myself some bangs! :) Though I have never tried going bob cut nor having my hair cut above my shoulders.

Oh, I wanna have a curly hair too. However, they say that it's a bit troublesome. Is it true? I won't go for bob cut too. Short hair is just fine with me. Thanks for posting. Happy mylotting.

when I'm stressed out, my way to relieve stress is watching some funny movies and variety programmes that can make me laugh. I seldom change my hairstyle. Possibly,it could be a good idea to change the blue mood. For girls, hairstyle realy means a lot. It's true that make something different will refresh spirits. I think I should have a try. We can also do that when we are not in stress, just for fun! But if the new hairstyle is a failure unluckily, what will you do? Haha, am I warried too much? May all of you happy everyday!

Well i have never tried out this thing. This is because i change my hairdo or my looks only when i am in a mood to do so. Other wise at times of crisis or stress, i make it a point to de-stress myself in one way or the other. What say?

I agree with you. We have various ways in getting rid of stress. Some people like chaging their hairstyles to lessen or to completely get rid of their stress. I feel changing my hairstyle to when I'm stressed out. It works. Thannks for posting and happy mylotting.

I don't really change my hairstyle if I'm in a good mood neither if I'm in the bad mood. I just let my feelings go on with the flow. I rarely change my hairstyle because of the kind of hair I've got. My boyfriend said it was unique and he loves this. That's the reason why maybe I couldn't really change it. But I want to try straight hair with full and fierce bangs. hihi. But I think it's too impossible for my curly hair. :)

Most girls or women nowadays love straightening their hair. I guess when we do that, it will become troublesome already. We have to maintain it. Only a few strands of unruly hair, would drag us to the beauty salon to fix it or treat it again. I guess it's good if you won't change your hairstyle. As your bf have said, it's unique. So keep it as it is. I can't also have bangs because of my curly bangs. LOL. I always try to hide that curly part. Thanks for sharing and happy mylotting.

I don't why but changing your hairstyle actually helps. I have done this a few times, mostly during break ups.lol I would go for a hair color or a haircut and then after it's done, I'd feel like it's a brand new start and a brand new life. Does anyone know the explanation for this? haha

Hi Marygoround. It's maybe a part of "moving on." That's great. At least after having a new look, you are ready to face the world again. Others can't move on that quickly. Thanks for sharing and happy mylotting.
