I remember the last time I watched a movie in theaters was about 10 years ago, lol! The tickets were very minimal at 30 to 40 pesos, and i would probably spend around a total of 60 to 80 pesos for the ticket and snack food. With the advent of the movies on DVDs and CDs, i have opted to watch movies at home which i think is more comfortable and convenient. So, 10 years gone by without going to the theaters, i was quite overwhelmed at how much the tickets have skyrocketed to 150, lol! and the popcorns are more than 400% to 500% than it was before, lol!

The only reason I see movies in theaters is because they have advanced screenings of movies (they do private screenings of films before the actual release) where I live. I have made a lot of friends that help me out in getting tickets for these events and the money I save in not buying a ticket I may spend on a snack their or sneak food into the theater. But with DVDs being easy to access I also wait sometimes for movies I miss in theaters.

I wish i could have those screenings too, hopefully for free, lol! Anyways there are really movies worth watching on the big screen, and then viewing them again if they are out on dvd.

hello, Yes my friend you are absolutely correct. Time has really changed. The world has changed. Everything has become more costly and so is the ticket price. The ticket price in any theater nowadays is very very costly. It has become very difficult for an average man to go the theaters and watch a movie. I dont know why are they doing it. It should not be this costly. I also prefer watching movies in home in DVD's. It's a lot more comforting but the experience of watching a movie in theatres is totally different.

The big wide screen and the superb surround sound including the airconditioning are the advantages or privileges one would have inside the theater as compared to the small screen of the TV. But the fact that i could lay down on the couch with a pillow on my head and also the children watching with me, that's a big plus.

That's why I seldom go to the movie theaters anymore, except for movies that I think should ought to be watched at the big screen, like Avatar.

As above, the only issue is the size of the TV screen as compared to the theaters, and probably the sound quality, but anyways the mere fact i am watching with my family at home is a good bonding moment for us and it is really quite fun and exciting.

True, that choosing to watched on a DVD's or CD's are more convinient then going to a movie house for it is hassle free, you will take a long queue in buying a tickets. It is also a great bonding to your family when you watch together. Watching for a movie in theaters really an impractical one.

And the best part it is cheaper, lol! At the same time, my family altogether with me makes it more fun unlike being in theaters where you have to be mindful of other people who are watching the movie too. The only issue i think is the screen of my TV as compared to the theaters, lol!
