There are lots of things that we need to consider in looking for a job,one thing that we should know is knowing the company's background. We should not go and apply to a job without knowing anything for we will not be hired that is what my mentor said to me when I am looking for a job.You should know what the company do and the job responsibilities that you are applying for.How about you guys?Do you think this the topic is right?

Based on my personal opinion, majority of the people conducting the hiring selection asked this question. Not only for them, we should also know the company's background. For us, to determine if we really wanted render our service to them.

I think it's a good idea to find out about the place you are applying for. You need to know what you will be hired for and if it's what you're looking to do and the responsibilites it consists of. Unless of course, you are not planning on staying there and are only taking it as an in-between job. If this is a career job, then yes, find out as much as you can about the company so you know what is ahead of you and what will be expected of you.

I think that knowing something about the company that you will be applying to is important. It doesn't need to be very detailed but just get the important ones. As for the position, I think it isn't that important but it could help because it will be your guide on how to answer questions.

Of course, we need to know about the company's background. One thing for sure, one of the questions thrown at applicants is if they know what kind of company he/she is applying at. And also it helps to know so that you know exactly if your qualifications (skills and knowledge) are fit for the position.

Yes, I usually look for the company's website to know more about them. It will be pretty awkward if you didn't know even a brief knowledge about them. That would only mean that you aren't much interested in them. Or how can you possibly relate your skills and capabilities if you didn't know about the company's background. There are also times that they include this on their exams.

Of course, applicants must always know what they are getting themselves into. It is also for their own good as they can assess if they have the right qualities and qualifications to work in the industry that potential employer is in.

It is indeed necessary to check the company's background before going to an interview. All of the companies I applied asked if I know the nature of their business. I think this would help them identify how interested the applicant to work in their company. Anyways, it is of your advantage if you also know the company's details because it will give an idea you on how to market yourself to them.

Of course company's background comes in handy when you are getting into a contract! If you don't know much about the credibility of a company you might just end up working for free and without a legal way of claiming your pay. Be careful whenever you want to apply for a job and more so if it is overseas!

Hello, That's true. Me also,my teacher told me that when I was about to apply a job I should know the background of the company where I will be applying because it helps a lot in the interview when the interviewee throws a question to me about their company. Of course, I will be confident in answering most especially when my answers are good for the company. It really shows that you are interested to work for them.

Yes i agree with you in this matter .When i start searching jobs in my early days ,i faced a lot of problem like fraud ,less amount of money offered after a long interview showoff . I think most of us to look after the company profile before application.but still in today market people waiting for a job ,so in their mind its better to get a job whatever be it , It is a sad part of our life also

Yes, when applying for jobs we should know the company's background what they do, what they offer because that's where you will be working and that some interviewers from the company will actually ask questions about their company .They will rate you on how interested are you in working with them not based on the salary that you can get from them. Some companies want loyalty from their employees that's why they do that to some applicants.

It is no doubt that this topic ir right, definitely. We all should check your next company's background carefully,it will help when you take the interview,if you know less even nothing about that company then you will not have a wonderful interview even you can not get that job,so actually this is very important in job hunting.
