I not going to lie. I love drawing/painting. So go figure in my apartment my husband allows me to make art work on well...our walls. For Christmas instead of buying a tree we decided to let me paint one. Was fun, creative and exciting! We can paint over it too when we decide to move out of our apartment and my children will love it but they're too young right now. What do you think? Cheap, easy, fun way to make decorations instead of buying art to put on the walls.

You are really an artist, that is why you crave to paint. Please do not use paints that are so harsh to our smelling senses. You could not just make your house more attractive with your chosen designs,it could also make your surrounding neighbors not smell the odor of your paints,as well as you and your children are not smelling the new paint odor. That is never a bad idea to make your paintings in your house. Some paints are really very stinging when done at a house and its odor could also be smelled to the neighbors. How much more to your own house if it is really harsh to your nostrils? I hope you think about this not just for your own love to paint but also for the benefit of all concern.

I have a suggestion am sure could help you also, because even if you say it does not smell. The essence is that you have been immune to its odor, that other are more prone to smell it.You can avoid a bad smell in your place by putting a charcoal in a plastic container and put it near your newly painted areas. The charcoal eliminates the odor in one day duration just put it steady in your place because it was still absorbing all kinds of odors that it could get.

Oh neat thanks for the suggestion. I'll take it up with my husband and maybe we'll try it(:

Thank you for your response and concern. When I decorate my wall I use acrylic which essentially doesn't have an odor at all unless you put your nose up to it. I take into consideration of my neighbors especially getting in trouble with the office if it did smell. I asked permission by the way so I'm allowed by our apartments(:. The paints you are talking about are wall paints that have certain chemicals to make it last for a long time on your walls. The ones I use are art supplies that are specifically for canvas use or so. Or if I'm really bored I will just use crayons(: They make a nice touch.

Yeah we still have our Christmas the wall :) Exactly, I want my children to participate and begin to bond with them because I feel like that's the only way (me as a person) will truly bond with my children.

I'm talking about pulling down the wallpaper in the bathrooms and painting... maybe even a mural. One year at work, we didn't have a tree, so I took green tinsel and lights and made a pretend tree on the wall and pinned flat-ish ornaments on it too.

Oh those are always the best! What theme are you thinking about putting in there? I know it's cliche but I think palm trees are always fun(: Especially if you use light shades of green, brown and some sienna(: haha Too cute(: I bet the office just loved it!

It is very creative to say the least. I am not talented enough to paint like that unless I had stencils. That would be a pretty neat idea though, I maybe would paint a tree but then hang lighting on the wall and sticker ornaments each year. I'd cover it with a tapestry when it's not Christmas though. Cute idea! Do you have any pictures of it?

Stencils can be VERY fun. If you don't feel like painting I know art stores offer stencils/stickers you can put on the wall and stay on for a long time and look like you painted it yourself(: Yeah I took some and put it in my sons baby albums because I put Winnie the Pooh on the top for the Christmas Angel(:

Hi! I think that idea is good. It adds a personal touch to your place. I wish I could paint our walls here. But I guess my parents won't allow it. I'm not a professional painter. Maybe when I have my own place I could try it out.

I feel your pain. My parents wouldn't allow me to paint on my walls because we were always moving a lot (former military brat) Yeah! It's really fun && you don't have to be a professional painter. Just paint what you want && how you want(:

Woah. Now that you've mentioned it I think your parents are stricter than mine so I think I should try asking my parents if I could do some painting in our house.

It is actually a unique and a nice way to make decorations. But on the other hand, it sounds a little bit of a permanent thing and messy unless you use a erasable paint. But,yeah, it rocks and it is cool especially when you have a great talent on art. I hope I can also see your paintings someday. :)

lol It is a permanent thing which is the point. I wish there was erasable paint. The only way to take it off is to prime if over with whatever the original color is on your wall. Can be messy but not really if you like to be neat with things.
