Let me start by saying I am really mad some of you know how much trouble I have been having with my daughter's school and teachers etc. Well my daughter has a project in art class she is suppose to go to the art room at recess time to make up and one of her teachers will not let her. I called the school yesterday when I found out her teacher yet again would not let her go to the art room to make do this project which she don't have a grade for because she was not at school or something when it was done. And on top of that they started a number chart with her and if she reaches a certain amount of points she gets drawing time and she is not getting it either. I called and talked to one of the teachers that handles the charts she gets daily and she is going to talk to this teacher and she will be calling me today to let me know what she found out.

I know. Even here in our country. Grade school teachers most especially are so demanding. They are giving projects that the students cannot do. So those tasks are practically meant for parents to do.

So far we have not had anything sent home where she can't do it so we have to do it. If something happens and she can't do it I send a note to school to the teacher and tell the teacher that they need to help her because we can't. It happened a lot in elementary school.

i am sorry to hear that. It's horrible to know that her teacher discourages your child to perform well. Hope this will be resolved and will not happen again to other children. Aside from the parents teachers should be the source of good motivation for children to aspire much bigger or better things to learn. Good day.

Well she knows now that she is to go to the art room today at recess time because I sent her a message and the art teacher is also going to talk to her about this.If she comes home today and tells me she did not get to do it there is going to be problems.

This is when they all need to sit down and go through the IEP. It is often a matter of various teachers not communicating with each other about a particular student. Each teacher has in mind how they think things should be done, but her IEP is to override all of those opinions. It is supposed to be about how to do the best job for the student.

I sent a message to the art teacher and told her that the teacher was stopping her from coming to do her project she is going to talk to her.I told my daughter that if this teacher stops her to tell her she is going to have to deal with my mom and if she gets in trouble tell her that is ok I will go to the office and call my mom to come get me.We may have one issue taken care as of tomorrow if it is not I definitely will be going up there and talking to them over both issues.

It sounds like you are having real issues with both the teacher and the school. Hopefully, a phone call will take care of whatever the problem is, but if not, I would certainly make a visit to the school. I don't have to deal with public schools any more and I am thankful that I don't. I home school and have for several years now and I am thankful that I am able to do it because I continually hear people complaining about the schools these days.

I hate the school here and the bad thing is it is the only middle school here where I live. And we are not the only one having these issues with this school and nothing gets done. We we're talking about doing home schooling but can't really afford it. If these issues are not taken care of as of tomorrow I am going to go over there head and tell the board of education how bad of a school it is.

Some teachers are sometimes inconsiderate. Why did I say that? Because I had issues with the previous teacher of one of my sons. I wouldn't just let her go away with it. I had to come to school and asked for a dialogue with her. Well, ofcourse, the principal was disappointed with the teacher coz she wasn't aware of what the teacher was doing. And she was given a warning for treating my child unfairly.

Hi Tina, all I can say to you is to stay on top of everything..Don't let them think that your daughter is just another pupil in school and no one cares about whats going on in school...

I can understand miscommunication once about not letting her go during recess to the art class, but twice? No this teacher just needs to have a good talking to. Hindering your child and her grades is not the right thing to do. Hopefully this will get fixed soon though.

This is going to stop today because if she comes home and I find out she was not given her time to go to the class and make it up I am going up there and they are not going to like me very much.I have had enough of their crap.

Some times when it comes to school and teacher problems its best to go down to the school and talk to them face to face. On the phone is good but sometimes face to face is better it shows them how serious you are and that you cant be pushed around. When you call sometimes they put you aside as soon as you hang up and there is never any follow through. They feel that you have vented and that is the end of that. I would not sit and wait I would show up at the school and demand to speak to the admin as to why your child is being denied the option of making up an assignment. Good luck I know that sometimes when it comes to schools its like talking to a brick wall.

If she comes home today and tells me that she was not able to do her project again I am going up there right away. They are going to know how serious I am when I show up and demand to speak to the principal and assistant principal over this and also her not getting her reward for her point chart.
