I have an old paypal account which I opened about 6 years ago, and I haven't used that account, not even once. This morning I found the list of my usernames and passwords, and the PW for this paypal account was there. So I went to paypal site and logged on to my account, and was very pleased to know that the money I earned 6 years ago from different online earning sites is still there. I updated my bank account information and transferred the balance to my bank. I was surprised to know that a paypal account that didn't have any transaction in the last 6 years is still active and my money is still there, untouched. Now I know I can trust Paypal. Do you have any paypal story, pleasant or bad experience, or do you know anyone? I would love to hear them.

No wonder PayPal is the safest and most trusted online money processor. Safer than banks I think. If this happened with your bank, they would have hold your account till you make a transaction or claim to make it active again. I'm new to PayPal. Got verified this month itself. I received payments to that account too. No issues. The only thing that I dislike is, that I can't disable auto-withdrawal and can't get my debit card verified. Otherwise its the best processor out there. Your experience makes it all the more clear and proves it. Good day!

Hi Mimo, Prior to this, I had my doubts about the integrity of Paypal. I've already said goodbye to the money I earned in that old paypal account because I thought I cannot access it again and get my money there (I opened it when I was in another country). But now I got my money after 6 long years! Paypal rocks!

Since I have been a member for more than seven years now, I really now how legitimate PayPal is. I wonder why you had doubted paypal's integrity in the initial stages. But that is quite usual for a internet newbie. I believed in paypal from day one because my friend was then using it constantly.

I think there is no other site that exist as trustworthy as paypal. Not only in case of getting credited from online earning schemes. Even for international money transfer, paypal is a fantastic way of doing it. I always resort to paypal for buying any international things.

Paypal is used for online transactions. If you are interested in earning through online, then you should have paypal account. This is because most of the sites pay through paypal including mylot. Now that you are in mylot you need to have paypal account. meanwhile did you ask for a payout till now?

Hi Angel, I'm happy that this post has somehow enlightened you and made you learn more about Paypal. The sooner you open an account with Paypal, the better specially if you plan to join more online earnng sites, as paypal is mostly used as payment processor. If you're just starting, it's good that you started with myLot as this is one of the best sites to earn and learn, but you need Paypal to get the money you earn from your activities.

That's good to know. But sometimes even the best can be fooled. There are already many people whose paypal account was hacked. Though paypal may have the best software money can buy to protect its members, still many hackers out there are trying to beat the system. And of course with every great service, there's a huge amount of money involve. That's why they are charging its users for the transaction they made through paypal. The bad part of it, your money stays the same after all those years. Not even a single cent was added as interest.

i think this is a pretty useful information that you have shared. i dont know about others, but i am hearing such a thing for the first time. I have never heard about a paypal account being hacked. maybe I never checked online new. But that is quite possible. even linkedin and apples sites were hacked, so there is no wonder paypal might also be vulnerable. But the important thing is even in some case if you lose the money, they would just reimburse it to you. So nothing to worry.

Hi Fulltank, Basically the reason why I doubted Paypal is because I know that no one is really protected from hackers, and as long as the wide wide web is there, there will be hackers. This is a risk we have to take because this is inherent in this kind of interaction/transaction. It's unfortunate that there will always be people out there who are happy to do harm than good.

Paypal is much better than banks here in the Philippines. If you left your money for six years without either deposit nor withdrawal you will be surprise to know all your deposit gone!

In the beginning I felt very reluctant in joining Paypal as I wasn't really sure about it being a genuine payment processor. Whenever I would come across any earning site I would first go through its payment mode section and since most of them paid through Paypal I would not join the site. Once I thought to take a risk and see what happens. Whether I manage to verify my account on Paypal and get paid through it or not. Luckily, I got paid through it without any problem. In fact it has become my second best payment option after check. Your story has stamped the authenticity of Paypal and shows why it is the most trusted online payment processor.

It was so sad that you had initially mistrusted paypal. i would say you lost so many earning opportunities because of this. Anyways its never too late in the day.Another thing is paypal always pays promptly. The only thing to know is if your earning site is legit or scam.

Hi Inderjeet, Like you, at first I was really not sold on using Paypal as payment processor, but I realized that it's preferred by most online earning sites, so I had to set aside my doubt and went ahead and signed up. It turned out to be a good decision after all. Thanks for dropping by.

I know I missed many opportunities that came my way years back, but I guess better late than never. I am happy I at least took the risk of spending my time on a site to earn some money and see whether I get paid or not. I am glad I did that.

I so glad to hear that paypal can keep the balance for long time and without any other cost. As for my paypal account,May be there is a little unpleasant story and that was due to my unstable IP address then paypal always need me to verify my account and need to change my code for several times, but any way,I had figure out this mess.

Paypal never compromises on security. when I had to add my bank account, it was a big tedious process. But I was not at all frustrated because that is the standard procedure. if you need security and privacy, it has its toll and we have to bear with it. After all all these delays are for our own benefits and we have to appreciate that.

Hi Skyandgrassplot, Now that you mentioned it, the money has been there for 6 years untouched. Compared to banks when they will charge you for dormant (inactive)accounts and other charges like below minimum account balance and before you know it your account went down to 0 because of bank charges - Paypal proves to be better (again). With Paypal, your money is there for as long as you don't withdraw it. Downside is it doesn't earn interest, but it's a lot better than being deducted a certain amount periodically just for "parking" your money there.

@Varun, When I updated my bank information, it was such a long process and Paypal needed more info than I could ever think of, but it proved to be more for my protection than for anyone else. Paypal is so determined to protect its account holders as much as its own reputation.

They are the most trusted online payment processor. My old account was been closed by them because somebody sent a suspicious funds from a hacked account. My fault was I am excited to know everytime I got a funds to my account. Without knowing somebody played me. Since then I always check the sender before I will accept the funds. I am more careful now. I don't want it will happen again to my account being compromise by Paypal.

Hi July, Yes, a paypal account could be used by people who do money laundering, this is way Paypal has become even stricter when it comes to money transfer in huge amounts. So you always check your funds in you account? Wow, you must be earning a lot online.

Hi Wong, That's weird, you mean they made a mistake in crediting money to you instead of someone else? Well, it happens in banks, so it's also possible that Paypal makes mistakes too. But anyway, I hope that yours is an isolated case. Just the same, Paypal has already earned my respect and I trust the site now more than ever. Have a good day.

@Randy, Indeed it made me very happy, and it came as a pleasant surprise. I only knew paypal when I started joining online earning sites mainly because paypal is widely used as payment processor. I wasn't 100% sure though if my money is safe there, so everytime I get paid for my online activities, I withdraw immediately and transfer the money to my bank account...until this happened.

I didn't remember the first time I signed up for Paypal account. It was probably more than 10 years ago. I primarily use my Paypal to pay for purchases and services. As far as getting paid, I only earned a few from MicroWorkers, CloudCrowd, and few people. Generally, I haven't earned much. This is something that I hope to have more in the future. Other than many payments and few earnings, I have not had big issue with Paypal so far. I am aware about many issues different people have experienced. I just hope that I don't have to deal with hassles. I noticed that you are based in the US. In my opinion, having Paypal account in US or North America, possibly some Euro countries, is privileged since there may not exist lots of restrictions compare to Paypal in some other countries. I'm also aware that not everybody in US have or care enough about using Paypal regardless of the fact that many online merchants have been utilizing it. When u mention 'old' account, does this mean that you have more than 1 Paypal account? If you did not use, why did u create it in the first place? Maybe it's privacy, which of course you don't really need to explain.

Hi Garson, The "old" account was my first account with Paypal which I created when I was here in the US about six years ago. When I went back to my home country (Philippines), I decided to create another account there coz it's easier to transfer money from a "local" Paypal to a local (Phils) bank account. Through time I've completely forgotten about that "old" account. Now I'm back in the US, and so the story goes as related in my discussion. Have a good night

Great. This is another positive feedback about Paypal. In fact, Paypal is my first choice for all of my online payment. I used paypal for online purchasing and to receive my funds since few years ago. This Paypal is very impressive to me. In addition, the withdrawal fee is low and I do feel comfortable to it. Let's thumb up for this Paypal.

I have used Paypal for more than 5 years now, and so far I have not had any problems with them at all, with the exception of one case. In that incident, Paypal sent through an email to my email address stating that they have put my account under "limited access" mode, as they believe my account may have been accessed by a third party and that my account security may be compromised. I was told to change my password, but also to transfer about $600 into my Paypal account from my bank account to restore full access to my Paypal account. I was obviously stunned and shocked for a second, because that seemed to me like the sort of thing scammers and phising sites would be doing, so I was quite reluctant to transfer that money over. But eventually I decided to do so because I really needed my Paypal account to shop online, so I made the transfer, knowing well the risk that the $600 might be gone if the other party were indeed scammers or phisers. Fortunately, the other party were genuine Paypal staff, and full access was restored after a few days and my money refunded to my bank account. It was a panic situation but I am satisfied with the outcome, keeping in mind that Paypal does its best to ensure security and privacy are maintained for their customers.

Hi Gerald, Wow, this is the first time I've heard about this kind of story about Paypal. I would be scared too and will definitely have second thoughts following their instruction - to transfer money to Paypal, and $600 is not a small amount(at least for me). But you trusted your gut feel and you eventually realized you made the right choice. Good that the other party is indeed Paypal, otherwise it would have been very sad ending. Thank you for sharing your story .

Hi Neil, Paypal has lived up to its good reputation and because of this it has earned the respect and trust of its members. If they're bending over backwards to find out if you are indeed the owner of the account because you forgot your password, it's is something to be happy about because it means they are so serious about keeping your account safe. Nice to see you again, Neil.
