Is Sri Lanka one of the favorites in the T20 World Cup 2012 ?

I would not say that Sri Lankan team is a "favourite" to win the Twenty-20 World cup. At this stage, any of these four teams can win the T-20 world cup. However, I think Australia's chances are the highest and then all the three teams have equal chance of winning the T-20 world cup.

I think most probably Australia will be one of the team in finals. I think Srilanka is in good form and also they have the home environment. I am looking forward to see who will win the T20 World Cup.

Well my dear friend, I personally feel that Australia is favorite to win this 2012 World cup in Sri Lanka. Why I say this because the current form of Australia in all the departments of the game is excellent. They are fielding excellently and chasing tough targets easily. Each member in the team is giving their 100 percent of effort till now. Today Australia trashed India and this could have happened to West Indies as well but rain did not allow Australia dominate that game as well. So, they are clear favorites. Coming Sri Lanka they are having problem in batting department and they rely heavily on Dilshan, Jayawardana and Sangakarra. Bowling depends on Malinga only. So, they are yet to show that they are lions in their own backyard. Coming to India, they do lot of experiments in major tournaments, so, it never allows anyone to settle down in their roles. I will be surprised if India reach the semi finals stage. Pakistan is very unpredictable team and needs to be more consistent to win the cup but they have to surprise Australia in the tournament by winning against them. Pakistan will surely face Australia somewhere in super eight fixtures or in the semis. England is not yet settled with their new team but they are peaking up at the right time. They were pathetic against India in the group game but picked up against West Indies in Super eight game. But yet to win against bigger teams. So from here they have to win all the games to qualify for the semis. New Zealand is very unpredictable team and never show consistency in winning games, so I will be surprised if they come to semi final stage. South Africa has everything but they are not performing to their potentiality. I think they do not want to leave that choker tag which is with them. There best team today cannot beat Pakistan shows that it is hard way ahead for them in this super eight stage. So, at this stage only the Australian team is looking compact but what if their two openers fail, only then their batting can be questioned. But till now teams have struggled to get them out very soon. So, it is interesting tournament that is for sure.. So, let us enjoy!!!!!!!!

Of course Srilanka will have their home advantage in this T-20 world cup and so they will be the favorites of this tournament. Also they are having a good team which can perform well. I think they are having a very well balanced team and the problem i could see with this team is their ability to play as a team.

hi scrubj! I think you are right that sri lanka can win this world cup but all the pitches are batting pitches and every team is in good form to play so very difficult to say who will win world cup??
