I think giving gifts is not the answer to keeping your daughter happy. Maybe if you spend more time with her alone, and help her in her studies etc that might make her more happy that the gifts you give her. Your time is infact the most precious gift you can give your child.

I do buy my daughter lots of things. But things don't always make people more happy, so I don't think you really HAVE to buy your children things ALL the time, as long as you spend time with them, that's good =)

sherzy (281) 10 minutes ago sometimes i'm just so busy I can't spend the whole day with her. Its not the qauntity they need its quality time. If you buy her gifts all the time they tend to not appreciate gifts you give her - trust me, I used to always but my kids stuff all the time then at christmas they had a heap of gifts probably about 20 gifts each from me then they had other gifts that were bought over. When they opened the last gift my kids turn to me and said " is that all " and they were expectly more gifts. They need you to spend QAULITY TIME with them even if its just 1 hour in the evening she will be more happy and content if you just focused on her. Play with her with her dolls or read to her or bake with her just make sure its QAULITY.

I don't often give my daughter gift. I think it will spoiled her in long term. I think the best thing to do is to spend some time with her, try to be her best friend and father.
