This is a sign of insomnia, sleeping deprivation is hard to correct most especially that you’re body clock is used to your new sleeping hour, it’s hard to correct your eyes to sleep in an early time because they are used to your late sleeping pattern. The best thing you can do is to stay away from all the things that keeps you bugging in staying up all night. Dim your lights so that you can sleep early, also drinking milk before bed time helps in stimulating and relaxing your body from making it alterative.

It is indeed a bad habit to have such routines. You should at least lay down in your bed and rest. Do not do any activity to allow yourself to be relaxed.

I also used to have a habit of sleeping until the wee hours of the morning, and the following morning I will feel so sluggish and tired. If there isn't any really that important thing for you to do, then you're right, you should have gone to bed instead of staying up. If you're having a hard time to sleep, try a hot shower and hot milk. Hope this helps.

I know, I also always want to sleep late because of many things that I want to do after work. Although to break this habit you can either not doing something that excites you before bedtime. And try doing something relaxing instead. Try to sleep after at least 1 or 2 hours eating because go to sleep soon after eating will disturb your quality of sleep. It's true that for better health we need to get enough sleep that your body need, you need to sleep according to your body's requirement.

I have very bad sleeping troubles too. I like to stay up at night and then sleep in later in the morning. I was told by my therapist this is not good for health so I am trying to improve this too. One thing I am trying is to go to bed 15 minutes earlier each night so I can change my sleeping habits a little at a time so it is not such a big shock to my body. Good luck with trying your new sleeping times I hope it improves for you.
