shopping alone

most of the times I enjoy shopping alone. I don't know why. maybe because it takes time for me to decide and if someone is there with me that person will get bored and start presuring me to move faster. but there are moments when I can't decide if I like a certain item of clothing or not. so i call for a friend to come in my "rescue" and enlighteen me if I should buy that item or not. the sellers would always tell you that you look great so that they would make you buy it. but a sincere opinion from a friend could be "life saving". thanks to a woman who worked in a store I bought a skirt that made me wonder when I got home if I was drunk or not when i decided to buy it

I also like shopping alone and like you, I take my sweet time choosing something. Before I buy anything, it must be something that I really, really want and something that I have tried on and that looks goood and feels good on. The exception is my husband, I love it when he comes with me to go shopping...which is a rare event lol! He hates shopping and being the carrier of my bags. But he does like the idea of me trying out clothes for him.

I find funny men who carry shopping bags and they look like they are about to be taken to jail. there are few men who enjoy shopping.
and I agree with you if I decide to buy something I want it to be something that I really really want
but I have one question to you...ever happend to you that you can't decide if you want something or not. in the end you don;t buy it and when you get home you feel sorry because you didn't buy it?

Well, i enjoy going shopping alone too. It makes me feel comfortable and carefree going in and back to a boutique.
Guess what, i'll be not worrying of others time because i'm only spending my time shopping. And at the same time, enjoying fitting each and every dress, shirt i want to fit and wear.

exactly. to tell you the truth I don't enjoy waiting fp r someone else either. if I don't have money to buy anything and I go shopping with someone seeing that person trying one item after another really gets me bored

I think some people enjoy shopping alone and I think most people love shopping with someone. I think we should try shopping alone and also shopping with others when we feel what we want to do.

Hi... I too shop alone... Once only my friends came with me and got bored... I take at leat 2-3 hours when I go to a mall for shopping... My friends swore they'd never join me for shopping... LoL... I'd go shopping with my first girl friend... She'd take more time and would need my suggestions too... That toughened me up.. LoL...
Before a couple of years, I met a very old friend who was shopping alone too... We joined and made it better... I went to her flat and we partied that night... Except that one, I've always been alone at a mall... :-)

most of my friends swore they would never join me shopping again. and I guess all the women working in the store hate me. there are some who look at you like they are going to kill you if you ask them to bring you something you want to try on

I like to shop alone when I don't have specific things to buy, like window shopping.
But when I have something to buy, or I found something that I want to buy, I will ask my daughter/kids or friends to check the item and ask for their opinion.

I could never do shopping all on my own. I always needed somebody to advice me on what I should purchase or not. I rarely believed the salesman's words for they were there to sell their articles and they would never give a genuine opinion and also they are not obliged to do so. After all their duty is to sell their products.
Though I agree that a person who goes with us for shopping can get bored and ask us to pick things quickly. I therefore, always used to go for shopping with my elder sister. She would never ask me to pick things in a haste as she was a shopaholic herself.

it;s nice to hear that she gave you a sincere opinion. and it would also be nice to find a specialist in every store who would advice you on what looks good on you or not...but I guess I"m just dreaming. I got to the same conclusion as you...never believe what the salesman says

Sometimes I shop alone and I think that there are some advantages about it. When I am alone I can spend as much time as I want in the shops and my friends don't get bored or impatient. On the other hand I also like to shop with a friend or with my husband because that gives us the discuss the clothes and I can get a second opinion if I am not quite sure if I like the clothes or not. I know that my friend will give me her honest opinion and she is not afraid to say that I look terrible if the clothes that I have chosen aren't right for me and I appreciate her honest opinion.

hey great to hear that u too like shopping alone just like me. Coincidentally i too wanted to post this discussion some that they throughout my life i have always shopped for myself alone and may be that is the reason that i love shopping all alone without anyone's interference. Yeah even i think so that when u are alone, u can shop for as long as u want and u do not have to make anyone wait for u. I choose my outfits myself and there is always a trial room where i can try out my clothes and then take away to my home if i like it.
What say?
