GAG reflex while trying to wear dentures.

I don't know what to do anymore. I have dentures, but can't wear them. I hate feeling ugly, without my teeth, but I can't seem to stop gagging. They can't take anymore off the tops, yet I'm still unable to wear them. Even with the adhesive or gel, I'm still gagging. UGH! Does anyone have any IDEAS on how to stop the gagging reflex, each time put the teeth in.

I have mentioned it, they have shaved the backs of the top plate, too many times, and have told me they cannot shave anymore off, otherwise they will not fit correctly. I'm still trying, but it is so difficult. Thank you.
