Hey guys, some days back it so happened that i was coming out from my bathroom after a shower when i happened to touch the switches to off the bathroom lights with my wet hands and believe me i got a severe electric shock and such was the intensity of the shock that i almost fell down on the floor unconscious for few seconds. Thankfully nothing damaging happened as was expected may be due to God's grace and my good luck. I have vowed from that day never to touch any electrical appliances or switches with my wet hands or when i am wet otherwise the same thing can happen with me again. Has any such incident happened with u before? Any views or experiences u would like to share?

Unfortunately, yes. I am doing the laundry, barefooted holding an extension cable for the washing machine. Then my mom plugged it and BOOM! I jumped out of my shock. Good thing the electricity wasn't that strong. Or else, it may be worse. Hope you are fine now, thank goodness nothing serious happened. Good to know that we all learn from accidents. Just hope it isn't that bad accident. Have a nice day ahead!

Hey thanks a ton for your response. Well yes, thank God u too was saved from the disastrous effect of the electric shock. Of course yes, the accidents do teach us a lesson or two and we feel more being responsible after that so that such mistakes do not happen with us again. The electrical appliances are so sensitive and they should be handled with a lot of care and attention and any distraction or absence mindedness can cause havoc. What say?

@micmac- Exactly it was also scary like my incident and i am sure we both got a very good lesson about how to handle the electrical appliances especially me who had always underestimated the power and strength of electricity and never thought it could be that intimidating. What say?

@micmac: Yes, I was okay after that incident. Thank goodness it was just a minor shock and my mom laughed at me when I jumped. absence of mind doesn't only cause such troubles but also curiosity. When I was a kid (an innocent kid), I toched the plug source. I don't know the exact name but it is where we plug the appliances. And, I got an electric shock too! Ran away fast outside the house and my Aunt was frightened. That was so silly back then.

Its a good thing you didn't become so seriously hurt by the electric shock. I have been told growing up by my parents and teachers in school not to touch electrical outlets when my hands are wet. They tell me the electricity can come up faster onto wet water and shock you more easily. I am sure to remember their reminders and to make sure my hands are wiped clean dry before I plug stuff into electrical outlets or electrical equipment.

Hey thanks a ton for your response. Yes i am thankful to God that nothing serious happened with me and i had a tough time getting back to my senses as it was nothing short of a nightmare for me then. Good that u had information about this before and u should be grateful to your parents and teachers for informing u this. I too had information about this but i never paid that much heed about this and see what happened with me. i am now totally aware of the electricity and electrical appliances. What say?

I am a professional electrical and current shook me three times. Then I started learning to program on the computer. But love is love and it is difficult to leave the experiments. It would be good to protect dangerous parts with silicone. The house should have a built-in protective circuit breaker, which responds to a very small current to the ground. It's not a fuse that protects the wires from strong short-circuit current. This switch is designed to save lives.

Hey thanks a ton for your response. Well glad to hear that u are a professional electrical and u would be shocked to know that my engineering branch is also electrical engineering and still i am so much immature, callous about all this. yes may be we do not have a proper protection against the possible electrical shocks and that is the reason why i got this shock but then its my fault also that i did not take any measures to avoid this accident. Thanks a ton for your advises and suggestions. What say?
