I have been near-sighted since high school, I've tried contact lenses that has a short life span, so I am stuck with my eyeglass. Now at my age, I've began to be far-sighted coupled with astigmatism, and really having hard time of reading small letters that I usually have no problem doing so. So, after going to the ophthalmologist, I was advised to get new glasses for near-sightedness, far-sightedness and astigmatism, and in going to the Optometrist, they offered the conventional "double-vision" lenses incorporating near, far and astigmatism issues, but the lenses were expensive. I was given the option of getting two eyeglasses, one for near and one for far. Which do you think should I get? The former being expensive, but convenient, or the latter which would be less expensive.

Hmmm... well if you do have the money, then I suggest get the expensive one. It's for your convenience also. But if you are not use to wearing glasses then I suggest you get two eyeglasses. Well, you don't always need to wear them. So I suggest buying two eyeglasses is also great.. The decision is still yours, this is just a suggestion.

I really need the reading glass for work, and as advised the astigmatism should be corrected too to minimize occasional dizziness. I would go for the two eyeglasses as having double vision lenses would have its convenience in terms of my working situation.

You have already said that you will find the bifocal glasses to be expensive. If you cannot afford them then going for the other alternative seems the only choice.

Yeah, quite expensive, and I am really opting for two, but unfortunately after going to the optometrist, the astigmatism feature needed also would could additional fee on creating the individual lenses. Summing it up, the difference seems to be minimal, and i am leaning towards getting the two glasses. Thanks for the advice!

hi, if i could have that kind of sight i think i will choose the double purpose eye glasses that i can use for my near-sightedness and far-sightedness and also i will only bring one eye glasses everyday, but if we don't have enough money for that then we have no choice is to select the option low-cost eye glasses.

I think one should go for a bifocal glass instead of 2 glasses, i do that though bit costly, i had purchased one glass that is what they call 'graded' lens, the power changes slowly; you can view, far; near as well as computer screen, it was so costly; sorry i couldn't adjust to it. Thanks for sharing. CHEERS
