He's coming to celebrate Christmas with us...

Two months ago I discussed about my father-in-law whose going back to our country few weeks from now, before we do not know when he will arrive but last weekend he called us and confirmed the date of his arrival and were very happy. My husband and i already book a hotel for him where he can stay for a few days while he's here in Manila. Also my husband filed a vacation leave so that we spend lots of time with him and for sure he has lots of nice stories for us, we can't wait to hear his sweet voice and laughter's. The reason why he's going back to our country because he want to spend Christmas with us and to make sure that we are financially stable. He's really nice and kind, at his age he always thinking about of our life and future, that's the reason why we love him so much.

Why do you have to book him in a hotel, if your place is just in Manila also, belen?
And i am just wondering why does he have to make sure that you are financially stable? Would he help if you were not?

Hi SIMPLYD, the reason why we book him in a hotel because he can't stay in our house, we do not have enough room since my parents are here and staying with us. Also he needs to go to Ilocos Norte to visit my brother in law too. My father-in-law was very concern about our financial status right now because recently we purchased a new house in my hometown and we use almost 80 percent of our savings. And yes, he will help us if were not financially stable like what he did before when were just starting a new life here in Makati. He always insist to give us a monthly allowance but we disagreed because we want him to enjoy his money and after all we can able to earn money on our own.

You have a very generous and loving father-in-law. And he is a doting father to his sons too, because even if they are already grown ups and have families of their own, he see to it that they are financially stable.
I think, he will not offer his monetary help, if his money isn't enough to sustain him in life.
That's how our parents are. They still would help us even when we are already capable of taking care of ourselves. That way, they still feel important and wanted in our lives.

Bhebe, it is good to know you and your family will have a very wonderful Christmas celebration with your father in-law. Indeed, it sounds very special when someone from afar join and celebrate this special celebration with us. I am sure all of you will be very happy to listen to his story telling as well. You are lucky to have a good inlaws.
I know having a good in-laws is an treasure.
I can say that I am also lucky to have a good in-laws.
I never had any problem with them.
I am sure your father in law will have a great vacation here in our country and he will surely enjoy the holiday season

Hi friend, good to hear about your FIL, your topic shows that you both have a good affection and respect with your FIL. Good to see this kind of persons in this days. Most of the modern persons don't give more importance to their parents. But you both are different and give importance to you FIL, as you mentioned your hubby filled a vacation leave to spend his time with his dad. Hope you both will enjoy a lot with him. Hi vidhyaprakash_2 , Yes my husband already filed a vacation leave and got approved. Now were just need to wait my FIL to arrive and were going to take a vacation with him. For sure, were going to enjoy each other because it's more and exciting. Thanks
