I have the following doubts which we use in our daily life The first one is going to lunch. If I want to say about a person who has gone to eat his lunch how shall I intimate this to someone who needs the person HE HAS GONE TO LUNCH OR HE HAS GONE FOR THE LUNCH If I WANT TO go with someone for shopping shall I ask them as follows shall we go shopping today or shall we go to shopping today?

Thanks for sharing this discussion. As u had clearly stated in your earlier discussions that English is quite a confusing language, i think i can help u one way or the other. i think we should say he has gone for lunch rather than gone to lunch. For the other sentence, it is He has gone for shopping or gone to shop. Hope u got your answers to the above queries. What say?
