Hi fellow MyLotters! I'm just wondering if how many times should I really take my dog for a bath? Hope that a lot of you could answer my question. :)

Not sure. When I was a kid, mom says dog don't take bath, now that I have a dog we bath him twice a week. We brush his teeth, ears, eyes, legs and b**t. Hee...heee

My dog takes his bath everyday. Well, I guess that depends on how you have raised your dog, as some dogs are afraid of the water and dont want to take a bath.

If you asked this question many years ago, everybody would have answered you: as rare as you can - once or twice a year. Nowadays there are products that permit you to bath your dog as often as you like. A dog should have a bath whenever he gets dirty. If this happens weekly or monthly, a weekly bath or a monthly bath won't harm the dog. But if you need to bath your dog often, make sure you use a shampoo specially designed for frequent baths.

I wouldn't recommend bathing your dog more than once a week. A dog's skin could become dry and itchy if bathed to often. They need the oils produced by their own skin to keep a healthy coat and soft skin. In nature dogs don't get scrubbed at all. The biggest point of bathing a dog is to keep pests away and make the dog more pleasant for a human to live with.

dogs should take a bath once or twice a week depending on their breed. from my experience i bathe my dogs once a week, also to be able for you to check on your pets. as a dog breeder, we follow the standard operating procedure of cleaning or bathing our pets, and also learning to adjust to the weather. if the weather is okay then we bathe them, towel dry and combed their hair, blowdry .

Usually, there is a saying that we should not bathe our dogs often because it will start to give out a foul smell. It holds good for dogs with plenty and bushy amount of hair such as German shepherd, Labrador breeds. But recently, many companies have come up with special kind of odorous soaps ans lotions which would give nice scent to the dogs.Anyway, such kinds of bathes should not be done more than once or twice a week. What kind of breed do you have at your home?.Better consult a veterinary doctor regarding it.Bathing is necessary to keep the dog clan but not to such an extent that your dog should not get infections and foul smell.
