Wondering...

When President Obama won the last election, how did republicans feel and how is that weighing in on this election? For example: His birth certificate. After many, many hot debates and fear, he still won, still stayed in office and is even re-running. Some said he was a muslin and evoked fear and hostility into others, yet he got elected, he didn't kill anyone (not that all muslin's kill) and he didn't began a new world order. I am just wondering what happens when your worst fear comes true? Like his former church, it was a hot debate. However, now I don't hear anything about his church or spiritual belief. We know Romney is Morman but no one even speaks of the President spiritual life. However, I do recall the "God Da** America" and many were afraid. Do those fears carry-over? Will these issues determine your vote this time around also?

Ladycwells... Welcome to myLot I had mixed emotions when Obama was elected. I didn't feel he was experienced enough and I was afraid we would suffer being the guinea pigs as he went through his learning curve...and I think I was right. On the other hand I was very happy we finally elected a Black man who seemed to be positive and full of hope and a wonderful role model for kids. Some like Hannity do still talk about Rev. right..but the mainstream media shelter Obama and try to keep him isolated from negatives...LOL even Romney joked about how the media do everything they can to keep his (Romney's) views from becoming public.

Thank you for your welcome. I liked your response but I disagree in one area. I don't think President Obama is shielded or sheltered. He hears plenty of slack I am sure. My concern is outright lies and Romney has sure told quite a few. Yet it seems those are dismissed as we run off to find another birth certificate for Obama.

I think Democrats fear that if Romney gets in, then a move will be made against abortion, maybe not immediately, but by appointing another conservative supreme court justice, tilting the court which will then ban abortion down the road. As far as Republicans are concerned, I think the people who have most to fear are the very rich, who will certainly get taxed more in the event of an Obama victory. Also, this election is key in that if Obama wins, his Affordable Care Act (ACA) will become fully implemented by 2016 and much more difficult for any future president / administration to reverse. This is very much the Republicans last chance regarding repealing the ACA. I think someone who has to fear an Obama re-election may well be Netenyahu, the Israeli PM. He and Obama clearly don't get on, but once the election is out of the way, I can see Obama getting much tougher on Israel and he may try to force them to the negotiating table with the Palestinians...we shall see...
