My aunt, the youngest sister of my mom is 31. She is still single and in a relationship. The problem is the whole family is against a Muslim boyfriend. We are catholic and the religion is a big factor that makes them against the man. I heard my grand mom said that Muslim are allowed to marry several times depending on his ability to raise a family. They are worried at the same time don't want to face the conflict of two religion when they decided to settle down. How can love survive facing a problem like this? Is their any possibility that they still get married regardless of a religion? Are their any married catholic and Muslim couple you know? Do they last?

Religion being between a relationship could be sometimes be difficult. Although I am nor against any other religion, I think it is still better to be with someone that believes the same things as you do.

Sad to hear about this. Religion and caste is the great problem for most of the lovers. Some elders are very traditional and they have faith with old superstitious things, it is really hard to compromise this kind of elders. I think your aunt gives a lot of importance to elders, so only she don't take any serious decisions like going with her bf. Anyway in this modern days most of the parents are changed and support their son/daughters love affair. Hope your granny will change one day

Based on what you said and the first responder, I would say that the outlook isn't good. If they both want to hold onto their religion, and it is of the utmost importance to them, I don't see how it could work. Regardless of whether or not Muslims are allowed to take more than one wife, it is illegal in most of the US. I don't know where they live, but you have to abide by the rules of the land. And both of these faiths carry very strong convictions for those who strictly adhere to them. I don't really see how they made it this far without some type of major conflict with their beliefs.
