dc comics stills holds rights on batman...this is insane...!

batman was create in 1939, this is as per wikipedia... after 60 or more this should be in public domain...but it isn't...if i am not wrong stills holds by dc comics...which in turn owned by warner... this is crazy...i have no hard feeling if their copyrights are on story or movies but the copyright is on batman character which was created 60 years ago...how can that happen...

Public domain happens after 70 years IF copyright is not renewed. Seeing as how the company still exists, I would imagine they have renewed the copyright. Nothing mysterious about it. Read up on copyright for more information as well as on public domain.
