I have recently checked facebook and i was shocked to discover that i have 3 posers. They all use my photos in their profiles but are using different names. This worries me a lot because who knows what negative publicity they are capable of doing. Im really scared. I hope facebook can create a good solution to avoid this from happening for the security of the users. I know i am.not the only one who experiences this. Let us stand up against this identity theft crisis.

My ex boss hacked my Facebook account and posted a lot of nasty things about me. And that he wasn't happy enough, he posted on the 2 Facebook account I made for his Company and said more awful things about me. When I saw all the posts he made, I was so devastated. I reported it to Facebook, but I don't think Facebook made any move. My ex boss just completely deactivated the accounts coz his company is no longer operating.

if you search my name, you'd see someone else's picture on my name. if you search my sister's, the same thing. i check their activity and they are active on fb. what if we shared the same name? facebook is 1bn strong, you know. so i just let it be.

Yes, you are not the only victim. Two of my friends become a victim of such fraud people using other photos. Just sent a message to Facebook admin and report that matter. Ask your friends to report the page too- it would be easier for the Facebook staff to delete the page once they receive many reports.

When a site ask a username not real name, avatar not a real photos like in Mylot. All will be save, since we could hide some of our real identity. Becarefull to post your real photos on a site.

I think there is an option in Facebook where you can report that profile and there would be an option for you to choose that that person is pretending to be you.

That's bad news. It's either they slander you, or use your profile to scam people. You should report them to Facebook and warn your friends and ask them to help you report it as well. Then make sure to set the security settings of your Facebook to private. Then make a sweep of your friends list. Those whom you cannot really trust or you don't personally know should be unfriendly or their access to your account should be put on restricted mode.
